This is not a rant about the major overhaul due to go live this Tuesday. That may/may not be good, time will tell.
I’m dreading Tuesday as I remember when we used to get regular new content every second Tuesday. My guildies renamed those days ‘DC Tuesday’. Do you remember the massive lag, the regular DC’s, the hours long wait for your confirmation email to allow log on, the system wide random bugs??
My only consolation is that the update will probably be delayed to very late on Tuesday night or early on Wednesday when i’m at work.

I do expect two or three hotfixes on Tuesday, and that’s after a fairly hefty patch.
It’s going to be okay, though. Don’t count on PvAnything going smoothly. Spend the time exploring the new LA, and working out the new builds for your characters. That way, you’ll be ready when the bumps have been dealt with, and you’ll get to jump into PvWhatever when it’s finally a good idea to do so.

Nope. I don’t remember those things. There’s a brief period right when the update hits when it is sometimes difficult to DL (and there are work-around for that). In contrast, a lot of other games have to shut down entirely for updates like this.

I’m going to be spending a fair amount of time that day figuring out the new traits for 8 level 80s, crafting new stats for the ascended armor and weapons I got as drops, looking over my stats for all my chars and checking to see if I need to craft new exotic armor with different stats to compensate for trait point lost and also checking out the new LA. That should take a fair amount of time and lag/new builds won’t be that big a deal.

I predict, at minimum, four(4) patches to follow after the initial update.
The dev team has proven they can’t balance a 2×4 on a cinder block.
I’m looking forward to the system and balance changes. I am not looking forward to the number of patches I’m likely going to need to download for x, y, and z bug fixes.
Yes, I think a couple of my builds are getting the shaft, but having played GW1 for nigh on a decade, I’m pretty well used to that.

I can understand the dread, but I can’t wait for Tuesday, because I’ve been waiting for some of these things to be fixed for over a year (I’m looking at YOU, April 2014 Feature Pack).
Some of my builds are getting nerfed or obliterated (goodbye, Turreteers), but others are definitely getting buffed, and overall, I think the upcoming changes are a Good Thing.™
And I’m definitely not going to miss the current trait system. Did I mention how much I despise the current trait system?

I remember days long guild/alliance chat discussions theorycrafting, and testing sessions after balance patches in gw1. Lots of fun.
I didn’t do much theory crafting. Lots of testing though (isle of the nameless, how I miss you). Still, listening to people gripe in LA afterwards was sometimes just as much fun. Lol I have fond memories of when they brought inscriptions and insignia into the game, oh listening to my guildie whine was absolutely hilarious. It didn’t matter that his +defense against ice was becoming stronger. Just the fact that they changed it at all had him all in a tizzy. I laughed so hard. But….straying from the topic…

I do not know being able to changes the combo you have on your ascended weapons and armor is going a long way to make Tuesday patch very nice.
