Ok, maybe this is some sick developer joke but unless you are a thief or tanky warrior/guardian then this vista is impossible.
The vista is the Dostoev Sky one, where you have to open a gate. Sadly the lever for the gate is guarded by a cannon, 1 vet and 4-5 dredge (all ranged weapons) then once through the gate the vista has 2 vets and 3- dredge guarding it (again ranged).
With a small party this is doable but since the area is basically deserted it makes the vista impossible to do.

Just keep running, healing and dodging, pull lever run through the gate to the vista, log out to get out of combat, log back in and keep pressing “F” key to see vista before you get back into combat……….Easy
What profession are you trying to complete it with? I’ve done it on my Warrior, Ranger, Gaurdian, Elementalist and Mesmer, only dieing when I accidently used the wrong skill (an evade skill) and fell to my death (more times than once) LOL.
I’ve 100% Dredgehaunt with several characters. Are you sure that you are taking the best route to the vista? Reason I ask is because in all those times of completing that map (it is the most annoying one in the game by far by the way) I can’t recall ever needing to open a gate. Matter of fact I’m closing in on world completion w/ my warrior and I’m struggling to think of a single thing that was closed off.
Edit: Is this the annoying one where you go up the scaffolding? You need to take your time and kill everything and heal to full after each fight. I know you can sometimes get the urge to rush after a failed attempt but you really need to take your time with this one.
I’ve gotten this one solo w/ a warrior, necro, ranger, thief, and guardian. None of them had an easy time w/ it. They key for all of them was to take it slow.
