I have been playing for a while and really haven’t gotten good drops of any sort. This common for some people i am sure but something recently has kinda bugged me. 1 person i know to have not played in the last 3 or so months comes back on one night to run the molten facility dungeon with me and another friend who have been playing. After finishing it he receives the Jetpack from the chest. The night before he had also gotten a weapon skin from his first time in the Super Adventure Box. This Isn’t so bad but the next night my other friend who hasn’t played for just as long of a time plays the dungeon with a friend and i and has the same thing happen. He also gets the Jetpack. Now I’m kind of frustrated and thinking what the heck.

So my question is do you get some kind of unseen bonus to drop rate or chests if you haven’t logged in in a while? Has anyone else had this same kind of experience?

I would think that would be kind of a self-defeating policy for ArenaNet to enact. To encourage people to NOT log in. It is just RNG. Lady Luck is sometimes kind, and sometimes rather irksome. Best of luck to you in the future! =)

It makes sense from a marketing standpoint. Most MMO’s that I’ve played sends emails with redemption codes to players who’ve been inactive for a while, in an attempt to get people back to playing. I could see ArenaNet trying to entice people to play again after they haven’t been on in a while, but I’m not sure it makes sense for it to affect dungeon drops… If it is a real thing and not just some coincidence.

I wouldn’t be surprised and only Anet knows how DR and RNG really works in this game. They nerfed all the drops in November and I noticed all the farming areas were nerfed and the mobs changed so I think drops were nerfed into the ground game wide.

Is GW2 a game or a virtual casino?

For it to work they’d have to advertise it. Otherwise, it wouldn’t get people to log back in.
