Why is it that every stat in the game on weapon drops has some sort of unique skin it comes with, EXCEPT for power?

Mighty, Honed, Strong, Berserker’s… all these that are dropped in the world have the same generic, crappy skin that the very basic whites do.

However, Precise/Penetrating (Precision/Critical based) have a really nice “Krytan” skin. Later on, so do the toughness/vitality sets (Resilient). Mending/etc (Healing Power/Vitality based) have an interesting thick, tribal skin. All the condition damage based ones (which also have precision later on) have either the really futuristic asuran “Glyphic” stuff, or the wicked lookin serrated steam look. I forget which, but one of these stat combos also gets a plant-like set of skins too from the world (on rares anyways).

However, if we want a weapon specced for POWER, we only get the generic ‘white item’ look, EVEN on the yellows (rare) drops!

Yes, I fully understand there’s transmutation stones. However, you only get so many of them before you have to spend a lot of gems on them, and every few levels you upgrade your weapons, you’ll have to keep using them (nevermind using them to maintain armor looks, which takes 4-6 of them, depending on if you hide your helmet/shoulders or not).

What I don’t understand is, why is it everyone BUT the power-speccers can go without needing transmutation stones just to have a non-generic appearance? It’s kinda unfair. Condition damage, Crit, or Tanky people can have a non-generic apperance out of the box without spending a single stone. Why do the power speccers have to spend a stone to not look like they’re using lousy whites?

Yeah, transmutation stones seem like a terrible solution, until endgame, when you won’t be upgrading so often. Leveling up, it just feels like a waste, going through them so fast.

I wish they’d just do the appearance tab thing. Would solve all sorts of issues like this.

Just bad luck really, but you can save the skin you want like I did and put it on your end-game exotic. All my orrians were rampager.

Killua: It’s not bad luck. The game literally only drops certain skins with certain stat prefixes. There is no such thing as a Strong Krytan Greatsword, or a Berserker’s Glyphic Edge. It doesn’t exist. If someone transmutes it otherwise, it can’t be traded or put on the trading post afterwards.

Go on the Trading Post and type ‘strong’ for all levels. Tell me if you ever see one weapon that isn’t generic or crafted. Even the crafted weapons are like… steel, iron, darksteel.. Same skin as the generic… but different shade of color..

Appearance Tab all the way!

I don’t understand why they don’t let us collect styles like we collect inks, in a separate and ordered tab and not in the messy bank/inventory.

I’m fine needing a Transmutation stone to apply the style each time, but please make the whole appearance system less clunky, thanks.

Appearance Tab would be awesome i just cant tell you how much i hate the system right now ( dont get me wrong it’s great we got the option at all). I have spend about 10g just for skins. And as a warrior i got a huge range of weapons to colect and reskin.

So i wouldnt mind the cost of getting a skin to get higher as long as we get appearance tab.

The problem I have with transmutation stones.. if I had a skin I could only get once like in my personal story and put it on top of a very expensive but ugly exotic that’s fine. But if I ever want to change my look from that and don’t want to lose that one skin, but also still want to wear my exotic I would either have to buy a new exotic or transmute something over the skin I put on it and lose that look forever, as far as I know there would be no way to get it back?
I change my look frequently but honestly find the system very awkward if you’re someone who likes to do that.
I would have prefered a simple appearance tab that would over-write the look of your armor with one that you choose and you can remove it at will or don’t use it at all to keep the look of the armor you are wearing. That way you can keep as many looks as you like and not feel like such a momentous decision when you want to put a new look on.

this really is a luxury problem, at level 80, you can, as you allready noticed, use your stone. Below that, you will outlevel your equipment too fast to really make it worth bothering.
