Droprate t6 mats
Yeah I was farming the shore on south sun the other day with fairly similar results, I had 2 bloods and a scale from around 2 hours of farming in and out of water.
I normally get 10-18 T6 (Blood, Claws, Fangs) per hour when i farm in Frostgorge. I already thought about looking for spots in Southsun, but i think then better stay in Frostgorge
I’m still not sure that MF has any influence on crafting mats, since when i farmed 1 year ago with 70% i found the same number or even more than now with 170%.

Champ Bags. Don’t waste time farming T6 any other way.
Was the screenshot taken soon after farming? I see some odd drops for Orr. =)
Orr train was superior, but sadly it’s too hard for champion train players … sadly.

Once I got a T6 too. Back in 1325 AE.
They could really use a bit of an improvement.
Most of the T6 I ever got came from the clover recipe. I practically never get them in level 80 areas.
The only reliable source of T6 materials is the trading post. So people ends up giving up and forgetting about getting the stuff themselves, and just grinds gold to buy them, which results in less people selling them because less people is getting them as they are killing less stuff (skipping as much as possible in any content to get to the gold reward at th end), grinding gold to buy them, which in turns makes their prices even higher.
At least, they should give come karma vendors and post-event vendors limited account-wide stocks of them that recharge weekly, so at least you can get a little bit of guaranteed ones after making some events and hearts each week.
Do this heart in Fields of Ruin, the heart vendor has 3 onix shards with karma, do this other event in Orr, you can buy up to 10 T6 claws with coin. The next week, the materials and stock sizes may be different.

What do you guys expect when you farm one mob at a time?
The Frostgorge zerg is honestly a better option for t6 farming right now, unless you’re on a server that regularly zergs in Orr. I usually get a decent chunk of t6 after only an hour in Frostgorge.
If you want to keep with farming in Southsun, you really should do it with a small group of other players. You’ll go through mobs more quickly, which will give you more opportunity for mats.

Yes this is what i got after farming. Coud be that 1 item was from Orr that i forgot too salvage.
Normal Southsun is great for t6. Especialy underwater for quite some mobs (gathering)
So no it isn’t 1 mob at a time.
Champ bags, well from the 50 i got 1 contained 3 powerfull blood.
So rng there isn’t for me sadly. It isn’t the point here too. Just the droprange of kiling lvl 80 mobs and the acquisition of the mats are so low that it would be good if someone was lookin in to this issue.

Some people simply don’t like running the train that much. I really just do it when i need Bloodstone but i also never had the feeling that it was giving that much than what some people are constantly saying,
And Orr is just such a depressing area.

Ahh, well, it shows you received an Ori Mining Pick, a Beta Fractal Capacitor and a Prototype Fractal Capacitor a minute or so before the screenshot, so I was wondering about those odd drops. Lol.

I’m not a huge zerg fan myself, but sometimes I do it if I need to waste time semi-productively in-game. Well, I obviously only have my own experience to base things on. But I find I get more gold, t6 (and t5, which I then sell), and other general drops from the Frostgorge zerg than pretty much anywhere else the game . I definitely get more t6, both from champ bags and as drops off of mobs, than I would solo farming, anyway.
Side note: if you’re on a server that’s good in wvw, that’s a great place to farm heavy loot bags. So, that’s also an option.

Yea, please stay out of southsun…. terrible terrible spot for t6 mat farming. Champ Train in frostgorge. Go there.
JQ WvW
Sadly i noticed the last two weeks that we don’t even have a champ train anymore on Drakkar Lake. When i farm T6 in Frostgorge i at least killed the Troll whenever the train was coming ..

Judging by your screenshot it looks like you were farming for about 5-10 minutes and killed approximately 20 mobs…
I’m not sure what you are farming, but your method and/or spot are clearly not the most efficient. I used to farm SS for the skelks and I would typically get about 40 T5 blood and 8-10 T6 bloods in an hour. I think that spot has been nerfed since then, but there should be similar spots around. How many people are in your group and how many mobs/min are you killing?
It is all about kills per hour, the droprate on t6 mats are not that bad.
My stats from southsun from 15 half-hour runs (i.e. one half hour run a day for 15 days). Total MF with food, account bonus and infusion was 203%. All done solo.
7.5 hours, 2656 kills, 711 t5 mats, 159 t6 mats, 10 unid dye, 15 rares, 4 exotic settler trinkets, 92 white items, 52 blue, 63 green, 852 junk trophy items.
On a per-hour basis: 484 kills, 95 t5, 21 t6 and 4 rare/dye or exo + a bunch of junk.
Drop rates: t5 = about 1 in 4 kills t6 = 1 in 17 kills
Stopped because I really cant be bothered counting kills. I heard conditions suck in PvE…

Yep that’s the place i was. did it by my own and collected the mobs in the water 5-7 aprox and killed them. But this screenshot was taken after an hour. So you can be right that they nerfed the H..l out of that area. As lots of the mobs don’t drop anything other then a lot of gray crap.
As for Frostgorge yeah the everlasting train…. Point is like I said, trains is 1 thing. This here is regarding the droprate from mobs. t6 is needed to make nice stuff, for example a legendary. 8×250 t6 each = 2000T6 mat > 1 per hour is 2000 hrs of farming. So is this the timeframe Anet had in mind? Offcourse you can buy and trade and etc….. to reduce it. But still this doesn’t chance the fact that the rate is realy low.

The droprate are however also very random .. sometime i kill 3 mobs and get 3 t6, and then i kill 100 mobs and don’t geht anything at all. Normally i look what i get in 30 minutes, since that is always when i have to refresh my food .. and it can go from 3 to maybe 12 in 30 minutes. Average is maybe 7-8 i think when farming Arctodus with Axe Warrior.

Yes, the droprates are RNG but the more the kill, the more dice rolls you get. This is the reason why people zerg SS, kill things faster to get more chance for items to drop.
I agree completely that T6 mats do not drop nearly enough. Once again we are forced to go to the TP or use other methods to get something that is highly sought after/needed for many things. Don’t understand why people scream “nerf the champ trains” when without that, you would be paying 1g per T6 item by now.
Wow are you guys for real ?
Just go do Balthazar, Melandru, Grenth and Gates of Arah.
Only on Grenth in loot phase (5 min) im getting something like 30+ bags to open (with at least 1-5 T6 mats), 50+ items to salvage, 0-3 rares, 2-4 champ bags, 0-3 T6 mats.
C’mon dont be so lazy, just go and farm Orr.
Well you must be Mr. Lucky StanleyJohny because I have farmed Orr many times and come out with garbage. I gave up on that place long, long ago. Best results for my time are always FGS champ train.
Are you sure you are killing the right mobs?
I farm regularly in southsun for armored scales, I get around of 230% MF, and I mob Armored fishs, and the other mobs around.
Usually, I got 1~3 Armored scale at each 5 minutes. Until DR hits me.
