So over the past 9 months of playing Guild Wars 2 i have now come to a point where i barely bother doing PvE content. This escalated dramatically over the Dragon Bash event as 5000 coffers did not drop a single ticket for me while a friend who only bought 250 got 9 tickets. I have complete stopped doing dungeon runs as i feel the amount of time that is put into one isnt worth the crap of a reward you get at the end, this goes especially for Fractals!

If i run a dungeon 30 times over the span of two days i’d like to see some kind of reward that isnt just put into the mystic toilet, which surprisingly gives me more crap which i have no use for or want. Alot of people say that i should go magic find and to be honest, if i have to begin to sacrifice survivability and stats to have a extremely smaller chance at receiving a drop, then the game has failed at some point.

I am in a guild which has 500 active members and out of those 500 a rough number of about 7 get good drops on a daily basis. We have one person that over the course of a week received 6 pre cursors from Claw and another 2 from the mystic toilet. He doesnt use MF gear. Another person did three runs in a row in CoF with us and received lodestones on every single run as well as exotics while the rest of the group (4 people) combined received 2 rares. This keep on happening over and over and over again. The same 5-10 people are the only ones that receive any kind of ‘acceptable’ loot while the rest gets the white-greens and an occasional yellow. I am curious as to why this is happening?! In the past 5 months i have gotten a single exotic weapon from dungeons, chests and fractals and i have about nearly done them everday since March!

I am used to, from real life and in other games that if you do something enough times you will eventually get what you are working for. Well in GW2 it seems that the drop chances for some people are high in the skies while the rest can keep on doing the same events and dungeons for a few more months without receiving anything of noteworthy value!

Is there a seceret trick to getting those yummy drops or do i have to spend a certain amount of money on the game in order to get some sort of invisible buff as a sort of thank you for spending money on it? Because as far as i see this entire ordeal with RNG and a system that seem to favor a very small percentage of the community is becoming old and is indeed pushing not only myself but others within my guild away from GW2.

It took me 410 ectos/obby shards in the Toilet to get my 77 clovers and it took less than 200 for a few of my guildies….

It ia utter crap how GW2 random drop rates work, it should have a way to up the % by the more you play/try.

A guildy of mine (I helped him do it too) spent over 700g on Greatswords trying for Dawn and he happen to get 4 rare scepters from farming cof… put them and and got Storm 1st try…

So I feel your pain im up to 400g+ on a mix of rares/exotics with about 100+ cof runs of exotics in the toilet for the lover and no luck yet.

I’m always unlucky in the drop/loot department, (I think Anet hates me) it’s been that way for me since launch. Others receive so many more exotics/rares and mats. shrug but there isn’t anything I can do about it.
When I get enough gold, I’ll be able to buy what I want. I’ve resolved that this is the way I need to play the game to get what I want and I’m okay with that.

Anyone who’s studied statistics will tell you that:

A) Computers are not truly random, there are several mathmatical and human errors that can cause someone to have a higher percentage of achieving things than attended. There are several mathematical paradoxes in life, such as the birthday paradox.
B) Everything in life is based of a continuing pattern, such as evolution. Under all circumstances there will be someone who doesn’t appear to follow the laws of probability.
C) AreaNet makes money of people who buy gems. Even if you convert your gold to gems, someone sold gems for gold in return. If ArenaNet is making a stable income to the point where they don’t even need expansions, then I see no reason for them to change it.

It’s life, sometimes you’re unlucky and sometimes you are… deal with it unfortunately.

I’m sorry, but this statement of yours I have to disagree with in regards to what the OP is describing. The RNG in this game is bizarre and broken. It would be like in real life someone won the powerball week after week.

I’ve seen it in game. I can’t explain it. Some people get drop after drop while others consistantly get garbage. My only explanation is that the RNG is somehow broken.

I’m one of those people who the loot drop wasn’t working for. I just got my first exotic to drop since beta. (It was from a world event chest) I was almost never even getting rare drops either. (except in chests)

My solution: I went heavy on the MF and zerg as much as possible. I can get it to 112 with food. Now I can get 8-10 rares a day if I work at it. I didn’t want to have to resort to MF, but you need money in this game for it to be fun. So be it.
