Ok
It is my Opinion that ALL of the cloth outfits and all of the leather outfits SUCK for caster classes
minus a couple of items, like the Reaper hood, and grenth hood, and the outfit Robe from the gemstore

unless your female, in which most of the outfits look sexy and awesome
i would really like to see some more Hooded robe type stuff , hopefully as outfits or skins sets , so my druid can look like a druid and not a gunslinger from star wars lol

druids in all other games do wear leather BUT they have robes and hoods and actually look cool, but my point is really that all of the cloth gear in the game is designed to make female toons look good, minus the 3 examples i gave, i would like to see a cool looking hooded robe that looks like a robe, and not lingerie, and is a multi part outfit, so you can interchange

My druid/ranger is a Sylvari in cultural armor. He doesn’t have a trecnh coat as his current armor, but some of the leaves do hang down suspiciously in the back…

Thing is though, I like trench coats, especially on my (Asura) thief. With dual pistols, dressed in a trench with dark sport shades and black/abyss dye, he looks like a total badkitten.

Note: Had to actually type “badkitten” but the context remains.

With regard to casting in trench coats, I’m reminded of The Xmen. Many super-powered blast and such were slung by trench coat wearing heroes and villains. Granted, scepters, foci and staffs might not look as good in trench coated hands unless made for it.

With regard to Star Wars (the game I won’t mention here since it’s competition), I like the fact that males actually DO have sexy and awesome outfit choices. Lots of bare chests (robes and/or armor) and tempting skin options. One of the few games with equal opportunity clothing. If you ever seen an anime called One Piece and seen the villains with their bare chested outfits, you’ll know what I mean. They’re meant to show off.

Thats fine for you, but this is a Fantasy game, and not everyone wants to look like gambit or a gunslinger from Swtor
esp if they play a magic user (druid)
they definitely need more hooded robes sets on the store, or
TAKE OFF THE RESTRICTIONS ON THE COSMETIC SYSTEM SO YOU CAN USE THE APPEARANCE OF ANY PIECE OF GEAR ON ANY CLASS OF TOON
for a game where the only “Upgrades” are PURE cosmetic, there certainly isnt that many choices

I have to agree with Raistlin. With the addition of outfits there is less of an appearance distinction between professions. Removing the SKIN restriction between professions for armor (maybe weapons too) would massively increase the customization and overall customer satisfaction of the gw2 playerbase.

I’d rather be playing the game than writing this post.

Too true. The lack of current customization is depressing. But, as usual, ANet will do nothing because of “clipping issues”. They still haven’t even fixed the broken monk outfit. I’m becoming very disillusioned about them every increasing customization options for armor.

Bump fixing the Monk Outfit?

and… tere are FAR too many treaanchcoats already for the medium class espacially for males, asuras and charr!!! Enough with coats and the clipping they cause already.

I’d much rather have some tribal looking stuff for my charr (not trench coat) Druid. Involve feathers, bones, skulls, fur patches, turtle shells, leaves, bamboo, bark, vines, pearls, seashells, thorns… Nature is full of cool materials and structures of wich u can make fantasy armors!

Right now I’m just looking for something that would work for my future druid. All I’ve decided on so far is invisible shoes and viper leggings (skirt)

There are actually some viable options already in game for a druid outfit, one of my friends went for this outfit http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/leathenornmale1.jpg with a different type of shoulders and the hood from the tarting equipment for the thief. You can try also the stalker and buccaneer chest armor, then there are other 2 hoodies and a hat/hood with the rubicon.
Anyway it’s true that the medium armor choices are not that wide, would be cool to see more specialization oriented armors …I would have loved a hood instead of shoulders for the druid spec completition..
