I just uninstalled and am dumping GW2 after 13 months of play in protest, until they rethink their world Completion Requirements.

Borderlands map three times for world completion is laughable.

Why the hell would I want to do the same poi’s and the same vistas 3 times on three identical maps…and for each character!

I will NOT do borderlands map three times to get world completion. You must be joking.

I have 95% world completion with everywhere else on my main character and that’s where he will stay sadly.

It’s been fun.

Borderlands is on 4% of the WHOLE map completion – That is not that much……..

They can always re-install to increase the dramatic effect. Then we get the stuff.

I’d had that thought too honestly, but I find it highly unlikely.

I mean, if they are in a snit over this (after doing all the other maps across multiple characters to begin with), I just don’t see it happening. Too stubborn.

i did it like on four characters just for the map completion rewards that you get, because they are so much easier than “real” map, no quests at all etc…
i understand that it can be annoying if your server is stuck on the same color, but eventually the colors shift and you can finish the other maps also.

if you couldn’t do it in 13 months…. you are doing something wrong….

stop being kittens guise. The op has a point. Pve ppl shouldn’t have to come to wvw to do pve things. They should just remove the wvw requirement for pve 100% map completion. I my self have it and didn’t really care because I play all aspects of the game but it isn’t fair for the people who just want to play the game in their own play style. Sure everyone looks down upon it but they bought the game too so let them have their fun in pve without being forced to come to wvw.

I find it really sad when I see a pve player walking around in wvw trying to get the map completion and I never attack them because it looks painful runnin all around the map being forced to do something you don’t want to do.

If anet can go ahead and remove the wvw maps requirement from the PVE world map that would be great. It is a kitten move to force the last 4% on them in wvw when 96% of it is pve.

I just wait very patiently. They change color eventually. That’s all it matters.

It only take a few minutes to do them anyway. As long as you own the keep/tower.

Edit: On topic, they should remove WvW, PvE, JP’s, POI’s and hearts from world completion! Alternatively let me pay a scout some gold to retrieve the information for me.

Or better yet, join a zerg and roll into all of them? Unless of course your server is one that is constantly getting beat down, then I can kinda understand the pain.

I’m looking forward to doing map exploration again. Done it on 2 characters and after a hiatus will be doing it again just so I can see the sights again. Finished the first two a bit over a year ago and having spent a lot of time doing other stuff for legendaries and ascended items, it’s a good time to refresh myself on the beauty of the back drops.

No. To me 100 world completion is the exploration of the entire “Guild Wars 2” world, not just “Tyria”. In fact, I’d like to clamor for adding heart of the mist, eotm, obsidian sanctum, each PvP map AND each dungeon/fractal. It makes sense. Do it right, not kitten

Might i suggest map completion in WvW in this manner. Remove your gear, armor, etc. then start running. If someone engages you in a fight sit down and let the person kill you.

If they can walk away with their head high for killing an unarmed, unwilling, combatant…I just feel sorry for them and restart the run.

Let me have my fun in WvW and not have to come to PvE snore fest to get my map completion. I am sick of the fraggling PvE players crying because they have to do a little fighting that isn’t against brain dead ai.

but to be fair, everyone. WvW should not have to mix into PvE and PvE shouldnt have to mix with WvW. Anet has a thing of pushing players into modes they don’t want to do. Because obviously “we don’t know what we want”

I won’t argue with that. They do like trying to tie things across modes to get you to at least try it out.

It’s just like them requiring the pvp arenas in GW1 to the cartographer titles. Is the same thing….
