Dungeon Find System
Yeah, this is one of those “Shouldn’t launch without” items, that I wish some games wouldn’t even try launching without.
But so many other games do launch without it that I can’t feel surprised or disappointed. I do hope they prioritize this as a feature.
I dont know about a “dungeon finder” but clearly something as simple as the LFG function in the first game would be better than what they have now.

Despite its shortcomings, the dungeon finder was an incredibly helpful tool people. Standing around in lions arch yelling “GLF” and battling a very strict chat filter is not fun gameplay.
This is a tricky situation. On one hand, this seems like a good idea, as it will help you find PUGs easier. On the other hand, the dungeons, particularly explorables, are hard, and require a good group that knows cooperative play well to get through without massive repair bills and numerous other frustrations.
So such a system would, of course, lead into groups where people think the tank/heal/dps system still exists, or groups where nobody does any support and control and just zerg/deathruns all day (and then they can come to the forums and blame the game for their shortcomings as they have been for the past month XD).
If an LFG system were implemented, it should be implemented with a clear and constant reminder than the possibility of you landing in a really bad group is there.

They’ve stated numerous times that there will not be a dungeon finder system. You are able to set your LFG tag or ask in chat those are you options.
I personally wish we had global channels, that would solve a lot of problems, and would be amazing for end boss events.
Like the poster above said Anet has no plans for Dungeon Finder also as Anet have stated explorable mode is ment for coodinated groups not just randoms you find in a Dungeon Finder but I I say they should put in a Globa LFG chat but only for LFG don’t want a bunch of people spamming that chat with pointless messages or atleast improve the current LFG system.
I really like this game but my main worry is staying power, not for me but other people. It doesn’t take much to turn people away, epically if you only have a few hours to play and it takes an hour to find a group. However, I know this game is not all about dungeon runs and I’m trying to get used to that but 7 years of WoW is a hard habit to break. I respect Anet stance on not wanting certain things in the game but they too need to worry about keeping the game fun and staying power. They should learn from the mistakes Blizzard made in the early years of wow and try not repeating them in GW2.
a dungeon finder is kinda of essential these days for an online rpg title, with GW2 being kind of having that “drop in and drop out” type gameplay this fits all the more.
PuG groups are rarely organised anyway , most i’ve joined are just a quick heads up on attack skills and target announcements, but given the crude amount of feedback from the games AI / UI it’s practically impossible to work out when things are happening as there is no enemy cast bar to work with strategies (watching carefully for animations is not the solution).
This reminds me of the same argument that SWTOR’s community had, Bioware refused to add such a tool and this is among one of the many reasons why they lost their “casual” playerbase, and now they’ve added one in after all those months.
The idea of an LFG tool will ruin the game is nonsense and is more the fanboy argument.
