Dusk (GS to make twilight)
I really wonder where all of that gold is coming from.
I really wonder where all of that gold is coming from.
Me too.
Gratz with 80g, as I’m up to 30g (highest in guild) @ about 450hrs. I believe some of this is possibly caused by the few thousand that have hundreds of gold atm. These were created from early 80’s (before nerfs), trade plundering / regulating (and they said it couldn’t happen), exploits (e.g- karma, speedclear), etc.
With money slower now than release I can’t see me getting to 200g anytime soon. Never been one to take advantage or do wrong, but I can’t say I don’t wish I got on one of those money boats now.
The fastest way I can see is TP market trend and cursed farming. And I don’t think ANet’s going to up the chances just because it’s very popular… it’s meant to be a legendary.
All the gold came from prior to the rare fix. People were making the precursors easily, and making hundreds of gold off of them. When this was fixed, the rate that precursors appear from the forge was also reduced, to the point that it’s now nearly impossible to get one legitimately, using the forge. The people who exploited this were not punished, nor were their goods deleted. As a result, there are now players who have over 1,000 gold or more that can set the prices on these items at a whim, as they can easily buy up lower priced versions and place them back on the TP for a profit.
Takes money to make money. The initial capital has allowed some people to instantly become GW2’s version of real life billionaires, who have the financial leverage to control the economy with relative ease, allowing them to make even more money.
I’ve probably spent about… almost 100 gold myself, although all of it has been from farming Risen. Needless to say, I’m not playing for a while. I still need a lot more gold to finish my armor set, superior runes and accessories and all, so… yeah.
But that’s where it’s coming from. That small handful of people. ANet actually made them richer by making the items harder to get (supposedly dropping from a 25% (maybe 33%) rate to something like 12%), as now there’s no competition, and these people with literally a bank full of precursors now have complete control over the market. It goes without saying that using the forge to try to roll for a precursor is a tremendously bad idea right now, unless you get super lucky. You’ll be wasting a LOT of gold trying, if you’re playing like a normal person. I’m curious how they’ll fix it, or if they even will.
They literally broke the economy of this game before it got a chance to start…
Not rolling back the exploiters gold was a huge mistake,
sad really, recovery of the economy is going to take a while
Clearly most class´s use GS as there main weapon than any other class
Yes, clearly that’s why it costs so much. Probably has nothing to do with the fact that GS is more noticeable than other weapons.

That’s utter KITTEN. The economy is broke because mats drop are low and mobs drop blue and green equipment. You can never make profits from crafting and even with rolling back the “exploiters” gold, you’re NOT going to fix the economy (because it was already broke from the beginning). How the hell is fixing “rich people” gold going to fix the economy of greens/blues selling at vendor level?
Some of this people, really, have no clue what they are talking about, and they just run their mouth off. Try thinking a little deeper, please!

Actually your both right.
There saying that those that exploited or used bugs to get rich and got to keep all there gold now control the economy to some extent as they have the ability on some items to buy out the entire economy of that item. They get to dictate prices for the rest of the players on the server.
This is damaging to the game because the majority of players won’t even bother now to go for cosmetic goals as the economy is too messed up to do it without a massive grindfest or waiting 6+ months or more for the items to become more common. Which won’t happen because anyone that put’s one up, the exploited gold hoarders will buy it up instantly and put it back up at 200-300 gold again….
The TP is a lost cause, add that with sales taxe’s and listing fee’s that in some cases eats u golds of your money, the damage is already done and I dont see it recovering unless Anet steps in and does something.

@LoneWolfie
You call it kitten and don’t even address his point? What is it that he said that is so absurd? Some people made a hundred gold on the chilli pepper popper exploit, and they’re still around. Arenanet intends crafting to be a leveling tool, and as such, they intend blues to be at floor price. Working as intended, apparently, as they even used the mystic chest trick to increase material prices further.
I wasted around 20 gold on the forge trying for a Dusk or Dawn.
I pretty much give up. You probably have a better chance of getting it in a chest or random drop. (ppl have)
Heavens Rage
The legendary prerequisites are far too rare right now imo. If there’s only 2 or 3 available on the global TP, that means that the people who are selling them can literally make up any price they want.
I really think Anet needs to make a specific recipe for them or at least increase their chance to drop.
What they should have done is made these weapons available for dungeon tokens (like 250 tokens of all 8 dungeons to buy one). Then we could at least get them by normally playing the game instead of losing a race against the rising prices thanks to botters and exploiters.
It took me awhile to get mine from the Mystic forge. Yes its random, yes its expensive, but its nice to have something you dont see on anyone else or many other people. If I did not have it, I would probably feel different but thats the point of the whole legendary process. To stand out and be different.
