Have dyes suddenly becoming more readily available in the last couple of weeks? TP prices seem to have plummeted on the more expensive ones (e.g. Celestial has gone down by 50g).

There has been at least one person manipulating the dye market. I suspect it is a group of people. I’ve noticed a number of dyes have been pumped up in price, and some others have been dumped recently.

It went down because supply and likely sellers went up, from 12 to 60. You also have to take into account that as supply drops, it exposes some very overpriced items that may have been there for months. 9 days ago it was 108g with 25 in stock. Now it’s just shy of 100g with 60 in stock.

People try to manipulate the market, but unless you know you have the only supply hoarded up there’s a good chance that raising the price by exposing these high priced items already on the market, all you will be doing is flushing out supply from players who also have a spare in bank.

During recent updates, Anet always changed the possible contents of Black Lion Chests, adding new items, like home instance nodes, mail carriers, exclusive dye sets etc.

That resulted in more blcs being opened and als more unidentified dyes and dye packs adding to the general supply.

A couple of weeks back, I crafted 100 unidentified gray dyes, after i saw, how much some dyes have risen in value. I got2 celestial and 1 abyss dye out of it and made a decent profit. I havent crafted any dyes since and 100 isnt a good sample size but i would assume that those that bought up celestial dyes to increase the price didnt factor in the average crafting value of them. They got too greedy and some other players started crafting celestial dyes en masse and undercut them.

The rise in value of coriander lately is definately related to crafting dyes.
