EDIT: Below, a user said that transmuting a legendary with an exotic and having the legendary end up with a suffix and pining orange in chat has since been corrected by the latest patch. Does this mean it’s safe to swap the stats on my legendary? Will it be upgraded when ascended weapons come?

I’m a bit curious on this. Are we ever going to be able to safely change the stats on our legendary weapons without turning them into exotics? From what I understand, transmuting purple text still makes it appear as orange in the chat and adds a suffix to the weapon, leading me to believe that this issue still hasn’t been fixed and that transmutation is essentially downgrading one’s weapon.

I’d mostly like to be able to change my stats because I feel like a soldier’s greatsword is limiting my potential, yet I can’t bring myself to take it off both because I like how greatsword plays and due to the amount of effort it took to get the awesome Sunrise skin.

I’d very much like a zerker Sunrise; will this be possible in the near future at all?

I second this. I have two Incinerators and the Knight stats is hurting my build. I’d like to transmute them both but I’m worried that if I do, they wont be considered Legendary. This concerns me for two reasons. 1) If they eventually fix the transmuting and make it so that they are purple in chat and no suffix, would this mean if I transmuted before this fix, mine wouldn’t ever be fixed? 2) When Ascended Weapons come out, if I transmuted, would mine be upgraded as well?

Gift of the Soldier
Gift of the Cleric
Gift of the Berserker
Gift of the Shaman
Gift of the Traveler
Gift of the Celestial
Gift of the Knight
Gift of the Rampager…

Each gift costs 1g and here is the new Mystic Transmutation recipe
1x Legendary
1x Gift of the *
1x Pile of Crystaline Dust
1x Bottle of Elonian Wine (Zommoros likes to drink while he works, it is known)

Output: Your legendary with the stat combos of the gift you selected. All. Nice. And Purple.

I suggest being able to buy a legendary husk from a vender that sells them in all stat choices(I suggest being free in cost but must require owning a legendary.)

You buy the husk, which is of legendary status, then simply use a transmutation stone to transmute the stats of the desired husk onto the appearance, keeping legendary level stats and purple colour.

Yes, something like that would be nice. It just feels like the level of investment should at least come with the same basic option to trade stats as any given exotic weapon.

Your not going to get a response from ANet, It’s a question that has been asked many many times before and they obviously read right over it and offer no information whatsoever.
