EU Servers located in US?
1. take a globe
2. take a needle
3. spin around the globe fast
4. attach the needle to the globe
5. where the needle landed is the server’s location
that’s how accurate GeoIP is actually.
The game-servers are in Frankfurt, but the Login-Server is in US i think, and also the webserver for the Trading Post.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

I am living in Germany. The pings wouldnt be that high (150-350ms) if the servers would be in EU/Frankfort. As you can see on screenshot 2.
Now if I check the ping to a teamspeak server I rented, its 12ms.
Considering the ping the servers must be terrible if the servers would be indeed in EU.

Account authentication is in America, the actual servers are in frankfurt.
Judging by the traceroute I just did from London to that IP, the GW2 servers are defiantly in Europe.
I’m seeing 35 ms ping time to 206-127-157-102.plaync.com (that’s the last hop before 206.127.159.159)
You’d be talking more like 90+ ms if it went transatlantic.
Well I am experiencing 150-350ms ping if the windows resource monitor isnt lieing. Definatly more than I would expect for EU servers.
The TESO EU megaserver is currently in US (they openly talked about it), I will try to fetch ping to that.
EDIT: seems to vary from 140-180ms

I get about 8 in London UK so I’m confident the EU servers (or at least Blacktide and Deso) are closer than the US. I get ~112 to the NA servers. Curious that it’s so high for you!
Maybe its some routing problem, the lag only started increasing a few days ago and is limited to GW2, thought the lag spikes are so minor most people probably wouldnt even notice I guess.
