Questions regarding Guild/Cross Server Teams/Chats
Why do US and EU servers not communicate data back and forth? I can not team with my fellow guild mates and do a dungeon even though I could team with players on other US servers and do a dungeon. They won’t even load the players on the screen if you team up and are in the same overflow. This included the Map chat as I couldn’t see their map chats and they couldn’t see mine.
Why are there not multiple Guild chats? Just because I am not choosing to give my influence to one of my guilds at a specific time does not mean I don’t want to be able to converse with them.
Why is Guild Influence server based? Why would you allow cross server guild membership if players not on the “home” guild server can not enjoy the benefits of the guild?
There was an extensive US/EU community in the original Guild Wars and it seems like ArenaNet and NCSoft did all they could to ensure in Guild Wars 2 that this community would be segregated. Three months and still no Guesting. No benefit from guild membership and it relies on members on different servers to accumulate their own influence and benefits thus basically making them a separate guild altogether, except in name. There seems to be a deliberate motive behind the way the game was designed which specifically targets those from Guild Wars 1 who were part of US/EU guilds or had US/EU friendships. I don’t know what the designers were thinking and this has bugged me since they announced the server setup many months ago. Some answers from ArenaNet would be nice as I now have to choose essentially which set of friends I want to play with and which I have to say goodbye to at least in terms of ever playing with again./
