EULA question
I haven’t checked the EULA thoroughly, but “advertising” may be in there, but not sure about guilds.
Even if it is, I think he’s a kitten.
ANet wouldn’t ban someone for advertising their guild anyway; they’d be shooting themselves in the foot. There’s nothing offensive or annoying about that unless they spam it.
I’d love an official answer so I can post the link in chat to resolve the issue.
You could just block the troll and the issue would resolve itself!

Advertising would be geared towards real money exchanges etc. If it was in Eula.
NOT guild recruitment, how do you think guilds get guild members?
So unless your charging your members rl cash fees to apply let him report away.
This isn’t LoL where you can he banned by random reports.
This team actually reviews reports and if they see meaningless reports like that, unless you are being rude, racist (excluding single race guilds lol) or otherwise violating any real terms of the agreement… You are absolutely fine so spam away.
They have a spam auto-temp squelcher feature in this game to silence those who really go overboard in advertising recruitment anyways.
Yeah, this is what people were telling him, but he seemed pretty adamant. I’ll just block him and forget about it. It made for an entertaining 15 minutes.
If this guy is really reporting people simply for advertising their guild in chat, then it hopefully will not take long before his reporting will backfire.
Eventually Anet will consider his consistent reporting of guild advertisements as an abuse or misuse of the report system, and if he continues he will be the one who gets banned.
If its the occasional adv fine.
If you are spamming chat repeatedly then I’d suggest you stop as itskittenannoying.

Advertising your guild in game is not against the rules – just be courteous and don’t drive everyone crazy by spamming it or that could lead to problems.
