Each dungeon has an armor/weapon set specific to that dungeon, explorable zones should too.

That’d be pretty cool, they could make it that events in that zone award tokens for that armor set. But then there’d be more currencies lol

That’s a lot of armor sets.

There’s what? 25 zones? Assuming we get a set of each armor type, thats 75 sets of new armor which needs to be designed, times that by 3 for different races, assuming they can just ‘patch’ it up between humans, sylvari and the norns, thats 225 new armor skins they need to create.

Won’t be expecting to see that until Half Life 3 is out.

^Don’t forget an additional x2 for genders, unless male and female will wear the exact same armor. So that would be 450 new sets of armor. No wonder armor takes awhile to designed and implemented.

In a game that’s all about the cosmetics, I see the hard work that ANet could put into this being very rewarding for the players. After a while, it would be very hard to find someone with the same gear as you.

The issue is there’s always that top sets everyone likes. It wouldn’t be a problem if Anet can design equally good looking armors but they can’t/won’t.

It would also take literally YEARS to get it done, and it would either require putting everything else needing art on hold or hiring loads of new people. So I don’t really think it is possible in a satisfactory way.

Correct me if im wrong but arent armor sets (and weapons) available from the karma heart vendors in each zone?

While it would definitely be nice, I don’t think it’s necessary. Over time, we will get enough new armors from a variety of sources (themed for LW events, new dungeons, etc.) that trying to maintain the status quo of having them for every zone would probably get a little overkill.

yes and no. there are Karma sets available in zones but they are the same across zones in the same level range

OP that is an awesome idea- I love karma skins as it is but the fac,t is lots of work for Anet or not- we need more armours that can can be had by doing in-game content.

This would be perfect for revitalising zones especially if the armour is themed to what is actually going on in a specific zone.

It would give players so many new options to mix and match and it would be great to go on the journey to get your perfect look.
tie it to a meta or give one piece per event chain or what ever but make it so that you know if you want the coat you do x or the boots you do y.

Alternatively you could also have crafting recipes for the skins so that crafters can sell the skins on the TP for those who do not want to do the events.

It is definitely something Anet should look at investing resources in imo

Sorry but armor sets are only purchased through the cash shops, well any that are remotely good that is. Surely you don’t expect to be rewarded with the best gear in game by actually playing it?

That is of course simply your opinion.
I have found quite a bit of nice looking armor in the game.
The personal story ones are quite nice for one.
