Easy way to get a owl and salamander drake?
Both are in higher level zones. Owls are in Snowden Drifts in the SE corner, and for the salamander drake (the fire one I assume) are in Blazeridge Steppes, there’s a little canyon full of them south of a river if I remember correctly. Owls may be easier to get, as for the drakes, you’ll probably die before you get to them.
Your best bet at that level is to get a higher level character to chaperon you to the needed location. The other option is to wait until you are high enough level to possibly survive those zones. (LVL 15 -20 for Snowden Drifts, LVL 40-50 for Blazeridge)
Note that you can travel to ANY of the race Cities via the portal to Lions Arch (so you are NOT stuck in Rata Sum).

I’m a level 8 ranger stuck in Rata Sum and I’m wondering which is the easiest way to get to these pets.
Please reply if you know
Look up their locations and go for it. If I can take a level 10 ranger to southsun cove for a salamander, you can take your character to the level 40 zones! GL

Certainly possible for a Veteran player, but very likely to end in frustration for a newbie.
Give me whisper (if on US Servers) this weekend and I’ll help out.

Drakes being hard to get is certainly false.
You just need to leave from Plain of Ashford and stay on the road to avoid mobs to get there. The drakes attack are very slow so it shouldn’t be hard to dodge them.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
According to the wiki:

there are juvenile salamander drakes in the eternal battlegrounds (WvW central map) just northwest of the blue waypoint base.

You’re upscaled to 80 on WvW, so you being low level isn’t as relevant, and if your server happens to be blue it’s right there next to where you start in the map (if you’re not, avoid the roads and places with the combat icon on the map on your way there)
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

Can you get there safely? Can’t remember if that’s the zone where the flame legion kinda messes up the roads. Or maybe that’s Fireheart.
Either way, take a buddy.
