The reason there are completely and utterly ridiculous amounts of bots all over this game is simple. There is a demand for what they produce – gold.

There wouldn’t be so many bots if there wasn’t demand.

Kill demand by closing the accounts of all gold buying cheaters. Simple. The data trails are there. It’s inexcusable that nothing is being done.

Nobody wants to play a game surrounded by cheating scumbags. Get rid of the losers.

It’s not like you (ANet) lose subscription money if you get rid of cheating losers, so get rid of the scum.

And nobody wants to see armies of bots in every freaking zone to the point that they are competing for kills to get quests and events done.

The bots I reported since weeks ago has become level 80… Anyway there is no such thing as report. The only fix and also the easiest method is target Arenanet employers such as Eva. And killing them. I have done once such as GameME creator and I will do so. And I think the doctor is currently the most craziest one.

This doesn’t seem logical to me. Anet sells gold for cash as well. Right now the gold prices are pretty good. If the botters are truely in this just to make money, do they really give that much better of an exchange rate? For this to be logical the botters must give a much better gold to $$ rate than Anet is already offering.

Are they really selling gold that cheap? If so how is that even a profitable business model?

They didn’t bother banning the Godskull exploit cheaters, so I wouldn’t expect them to ban these either, honestly.

The in-game economy seems ok in my eyes, the only expensive things currently seem to be exotics for legendaries and gems.

I’m not sure how either would be impacted by bots/gold sellers.

The gold → gems part in the TP is completely based on player to player trading, those that sell gems and buy gems for gold. This has nothing to do with bots. Because getting the gems would require real money investments to make gold on it. Not profitable for goldsellers. And due to the quite high price on gems, it indeed seems like players are both happy buying and selling gems for gold.

If no one would buy the prices would drop. So that leads me to think that very few people buy from goldsellers.

The legendaries just follow the tide. More and more people get more and more money so of course prices go up on legendaries. 10g used to be alot, but now people make more gold so now its up far over 100g for a legendary exotic.

On the otherhand I do agree the bots and 3rd party goldsellers need to be dealt with. But there market is probably not big, since gold in this game doesnt have much of an impact, you dont need much gold to get anywhere. 30g and you have a full exotic set, rings, neck and all that included.

The most expensive things to me personally are the items from the gem store, like fine transmutation stones, roughly 8g (800 gems) for 25 of them. Right now gems are almost at a 1:1 ratio with silver.

Let Valkyries guide me to my destiny.

Yes, people buying gold from external sources is the problem, and if they stopped, botting wouldn’t be worth the effort. However, apparently people are buying gold. I’m not sure how to stop them. They’re obviously not the people who really want to see the game succeed… maybe if we lose some of the more impatient and competitive players over time, the demand for external gold-sellers will die down.

Also:

The only fix and also the easiest method is target Arenanet employers such as Eva. And killing them.

Wha…what?

I move off a server due to seeing the same bots every day after reporting them
