This is a known issue and is very common. Report the offender via the in game report option.

I’ve gotten a bunch of these. I’m actually surprised at the number of players that seem not to have heard of this scam already.
These scam mails are usually sent by other accounts that have been stolen. So it is more than likely not due to someone that is mad at you.

There’s only a small percentage that visit the forums so the issue isn’t as known as you might think in the game. People fall for it on a regular basis (hence why they still do it). Kind of makes me wish the forums were a bigger part of the game.

if they really fall for it, i cant really ahve pity with them, between the horrible grammar and spelling, the more than just a Little suspicious link (that you have to write manually, as you can you click or copy-paste from an ingame mail…), and the warning at the bottom that the mail is not from ANet, it is their own kitten fault for still actually going to the website
If you fall for something this obvious you’re the kind of person that the warning labels are made for.
