Elder Dragon Idea
[????] – HoD
Well the Elder Dragons have always been described as huge organisms, more alike forces of nature that are led by a desire to consume magic. I don’t believe they want to “destroy everything and have minions that are slaves.”
It’s not that they inherently hate other races or desire to conquer the world. They just want to live and consume all.
Humans, Charr, Norn, Asura, Sylvari and the other races are but mere bugs ruining the Dragons’ feast.
I don’t believe a starving Elder Dragon driven to consume magic would start pooping rainbows of joy when interrupted.
Imagine having a picknick and all the bugs in the neighbourhood suddenly decide to ruin your feast by crawling all over the place and claiming all of the good food.
“GET OUT OF HERE, I WANT TO ENJOY MY FEAST!”
The Dragons simply use minions to fight these bugs in front of them because it’s convenient. Minions can serve the dragons by both protecting them and by feeding them.
The Elder Dragons are powerful, yet also the embodiments of most if not all Cardinal Sins:
pride, greed, lust, gluttony, wrath yet also sloth and perhaps envy as well.
I fear they are not as much one-sided personality-wise as they are human.
They simply lack any virtues and consider the world as theirs to consume, not unlike a human emperor.
a small, casual Guild with a play as you want style.
Now hold on a minute, though. I think Kamedin may have the start of a good idea here.
Imagine if the energy released during the death of Mordremoth caused a new Mordremoth champion to arise. Mord is the dragon of Mind as well, so let’s say the new one uses that, instead of just plants.
This new champion decides to deal with the forces arrayed against it in a new way. It doesn’t twist and warp them. It doesn’t bend them to its will. It just … makes them happy.
It starts something akin to a cult or religion, and lets it slowly spread. It never denies what it is, and that the end goal is transformation of the world and absorption of magic. But, it says, why not help it and have an enjoyable outcome? A world wide garden, instead of endless fields of ice, crystals, or fire. If people are working with it, there’s no need for any fighting or killing, and it can make them happy. Through bringing minds together, it can bring world peace. It can create a paradise, if people are just willing to be happy with it.
And here we stand, the “Heroes” of Tyria ready to cut it down and burn it to ash. Why? Because we know better.
….. right?
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

Pft the Charr would prolly still wanna kill it! (or give it a nasty pedicure!)
