Elemental Sword + Suggestion
A little bit longer would be great. It’s sadly too tiny for such a great skin with cool details on it.
I need this sword. My ele uses it as a sceptre skin in GW1 and now his ancestor needs to own it…even if he can’t use it!
I agree with it being too short
Too bad its only acc bound. I hate RNG things.
+1 for Suggestion
It looks more like a dagger. Hope they make it a bit longer, because it is a very cool skin!
yeah +1 for making abit longer i hope the devs notice it. But then again its a rare thing that whill exist for a little while so ye :/

This, so much this. I gambled my savings and, of course didnt get one.
Kinda makes me not want to play.
Grind gold to hope for the chance to get one or use the visa and have to explain to my wife why there is an extra $100 on the bill

anet wants money: add it to the gem store for 500-600 gems
anet doesn’t want money: make it rng in black lion chests

That’s how I feel. If it was in the store I would have bought it in a heartbeat. There’s no way I’d be able to get enough keys to unlock the thing :c
So long Treeface.

To be fair it did drop out of chests back in Gw1, not saying I agree with it being blc but still.
Dragonbrand
I would imagine that for ANet to offer the Elemental Sword for direct buy with the same approximate net cost & availability, they’d have to charge over 3000 gems.
Would people actually prefer that ANet release some skins with a cost of 1000s of gems instead of via BL chests? If you already spend cash, would you be willing to spend US$35 or more for a skin?
Here’s why I think “3000 gems” is plausible:
- According to this post on Reddit, we can guess at a drop rate of about 1:50.
- The best luck reported (3 swords, 25 tries) would have about a 1% chance. The worst (1:81 & 1:83) about 18% chance.
- 50 BL Keys costs 4200 gems if bought in bulk.
- If critics of the RNG+Gem shop system are correct, more people would spend if they could buy directly, and (if true) that would allow ANet to charge a bit less than 4200.
(Obviously, there’s nothing close to enough data and the data that we do have is skewed. So this is just a “plausibility” argument for the sake of estimating the cost of an alternative.)
I am taking a break from the game…..after about 600 gold in keys I have given up.
I used to love this weapon skin from GW1 and it is awesome but I WILL NOT pay money with ZERO guarantee on the item that I want.
Anet needs to rethink their gemstore as well as how people WANT to buy things ingame.
If I could pay directly for the item I want them I definitely would but gambling $35 or so just at the chance is stupid and unbelievably unethical.

yes pls make the sword longer. Its too small.
or make the skin sellable in the tp for goldz ez

nah if anet wants more money they will put it as rare drop from blc since you could end up spending more for ot than anything else in the cashshop
account bound BLK skins make me sad. I don’t do buying this with a chance I’ll not get what I want.

Another lost sale here. If it was in the gem store I’d have bought it, but I refuse to gamble with real money so I won’t be getting it.
I actually have 4 black lion keys sitting in my bank from doing the level 10 and 40 story chapters, but I won’t even be using them because after the Mini Celestial Rooster was locked away in chests I feel like I have to keep them just in case something else I really want comes up.
It’s a horrible system that punishes players (both those who want it and can’t get it and those who do get it, don’t want it and can’t sell it) all in the hope that some of the first group will be desperate enough to throw away more money than they’d normally be willing to pay for a chance to own it.

That would be a good solution IMO.
That way people who want to gamble, either for the sword, for another item or just for the sake of it, can do so. And if they don’t want the sword they can sell it, turning what would currently be a disappointing and useless drop for them into a load of gold (which they can use to buy something they do want) and make another player happy in the process by allowing them to get the sword.
Same profit for Anet (because someone still has to get the sword from a chest) but two more happy players for every currently useless sword. (And more activity on the TP which has additional benefits for them.)
