Guild Wars 2

I am an Elementalist and I currently have a staff as my primary weapon. Am I correct in saying that each weapon has its own set of skills; either fire, water, air or earth.

If I get a different staff, do I keep the same skills, or does each staff have its own set or skills?

Also, what is the best weapon for an elementalist? Is it the staff?

If you look under your skills tab where your traits and such are, you’ll see what weapons you can use and what weapon skills are unlocked by using those specific weapons. And yes, each element has their own set of skills with each weapon.

And all staffs use the same skills. There isn’t different staff skills for different types of staffs. Each weapon set comes with its own skills though, so play around with the different sets and see what you like more.

As for the best, I can’t help ya there. Haven’t really worked on my Elementalist to figure out which I like best.

Staff has a lot of group utility, Dagger/Dagger is great for solo play, Sceptre/Focus has it’s uses but they are few and far between.

The scepter has more focused damage than the staff, kinda like an inbetween of staff and daggers.

The focus is mostly for self defense, which is pretty useful for new elementalists.

start playing with staff its the most easier and non riskier for new elementalist, then as u lvl try different weapons.
