Q:
Elite Area GW2
Is that not what Fractals are?

fractal isn’t an elite area it’s just a dungeon which going harder and harder, Elite Area is an area which is already hard.
Well why don’t you define in what way you would want an elite area to be “hard” exactly?

Not sure if that’s what the OP meant but I would want some open world areas that have fast respawn, roaming mobs, more veteran and the odd champion in between. If you know the hylek cave mini dungeon in Caledon, kinda like that. The point for me is to have open world or mini dungeon areas that are interesting to play in with 1-2 friends without being faceroll easy, for situations where you just dont want to commit to 5 people fixed dungeon runs.
do you know gw1 grandmafunk ? cause for a while UW & FoW was qualified as the most hard area in gw1, there was a purpose and a story in those area , also when you finished FoW you could buy an armor which was expensive. see there was goal.
Also fractal is quite easy i don’t really see the challenge in it, wether you get like -20/agony or you get OS by agony, the agony scale isn’t good at all.
Fractals is like 9 dungeons group up to make something so no it’s not an elite area at all

Yup, played it for 6 years.

so… exactly like a dungeon then?

GW2 has elite areas already. It’s everywhere they are addressing the mythical hardcore player. The next elite area will be the new Teq. They also said they were making all the current world bosses more interesting so they may all be elite areas who knows. The major function of elite areas in GW2 is to empty the open world in which they occur.
Do I detect a hint of sarcasm?
Tribulation mode style of JP incorparated into a solo dungeon with a Champion Boss that changes its fighting mode to counter the player style so that no dominant build/traits/equipment has advantage.
Additionaly the combat skills and set of moves the boss have will be large and does not follow a pattern so that the fight is unpredictable and dynamic.
In my humblest of opinions UW, FoW and DoA is 10X more fun, better and more challenging than Fractals or anything else that has been put in GW2.
