One of the main reasons that made me choose necro to play on GW1 was the Elite Scar Armor. Yes there were many nice sets and might be much more better looking and have many details, but that set was special, unique, hell its full body tattoo .. hah!

Its one of the things that I wish i’d see coming back on GW2, my hopes are not so high & on the most part i dont believe it’ll happen, but even if it came back through gemstore, i’ll pay real money for that set.

Ha, now that would make an interesting outfit! Just like every GW set, I’d like that one to make it to GW2. I believe there are also one or two GW1 monk sets that are just full body paint. :P

The ingame model, not so much. It wasn’t body tats, they were obvious scars. Disfiguration, to me, isn’t pretty. Mileage varies, as always.

Doubt, however, we will ever see profession specific armor. That would violate the communitarian utopia.

Cultural armor is the closest with have, and people are even grumpy over them because Norn females wants to run around in underboob black leather too with silly haircolour.

Scar tissue =/= Armor

Guild Wars =/= Guild Wars 2

Nah, what we need desperately is the Necromancer Tyrian armor.

I didn’t like the Scar or Tattoo Elites in GW1. I preferred the Cabalist Elite armor although it did have clipping issues.

But the female models from GW1 are soo ugly when i see them these days.
These overly big heads and extrem loong necks .. they really look like some
human-raptor hybrids .. or whatever

Because its easier for the armor designer to create 80 sets instead of 2 if we make them even race-specific and gender-specific also for charr and asura … so 5 × 8 × 2

Oh, so the idea would be to have this only available to humans?

I just went through all my GW1 characters to clear out birthday presents, and it occurred to me how much I miss so many of my armors. Personally my favorites were the Kurzick, especially the elite Warrior, Necromancer and Mesmer armor set. I would pay a lot to have many of those old armors ported over to GW2.

I agree that this would be pretty cool, OP, and the idea of a few sets of profession-specific armor is really appealing to me in concept.

Mh, appealing, yes. Looking at the few starter skins that can be shared as well and how the wardrobe works, don’t know.

Would it be ok if they make “profession-specific” sets but technically other professions withing the same weight could still equip it? Might even be fun, imagine someone “posing” as a mesmer stuck in a necro illusion (thinking RP ideas).
