Stats from traits was removed for good, so yeah, you’ll get stats only from gear.

what a disappointment, only one specialization after three years? as I understood in the post was a specialization of elite unlocked by default and there were others that would have to unlock.

I think it wise that a responsible answer to these questions because the truth is that they are not very clear , I reread the post of elite specialization , and this post says it can be changed with equal ease of especialiezación elite like when you change the standard specialization therefore it assumes that there is more than one.

What the post mean is that you can change from regular specialization to elite specialization and in the future when new elite specialization become available you’ll be able to easily change, but it is clearly said that we’ll get just 1 elite specialization with this expansion.

well OP its 1 for your elementalist another 1 for your warrior and same for all the 8 base classes + the expansion class to a total of 9 elite specs.
so in a sence we are getting more then 1 just not for the same class.
