Hopefully we can get at least some hint on what guidance the developers are following when it comes Elite Specs.
Because the announcement showed the Holosmith using both a GS and Hammer; that tells me that you can have two Elite Specs on your traitlines active at the same time.

This is great for some classes, and completely bonkers on others. For instance, Firebrand…. there’s no reason to mesh traps and range with support. No one will be a Dragonhunter and Firebrand at the same time.

However, Reaper and Scorch… the SPVP and WvW communities will riot if you give a class AoE Chill and burn. They’ll have to invent new terminology beyond the traditional “cancer” for what will happen.

Also Daredevil/Deadeye? Three dodges, stealth, and now a long range high DPS output…

ANet, are you going to stream the next SPvP championship featuring teams of 5 DEs on EVERY TEAM!?
Plus the only WvW commanders left will be alcoholics and masochists. Pin sniping is already a frequent complaint and adding this combo will guarantee that no one will want to ever command…EVER again.

I think holos use something like conjured weapons as a class mechanic, I don’t think it conveys that they are using two elite specs.

Yes, the voice over in the announcement referred to them as summoned/conjured weapons made of light.

It has been very specifically designed to accommodate one Elite Spec at a time. Like perilisk said, it was just conjured weapons/animations as they play around with light and holograms. I agree that meshing Elite Specs together would be absolutely bonkers

Sorry Chris, you interpreted it all wrong. It’s 1 elite spec and Holosmith can use holo weapons as they said in the trailer. As for Deadeye, not sure but a rumour said they were only getting 1 dodge rather than the baseline 2, so it will be all about positioning rather than DD’s evade spam.

Ok, well that’s a bit of a relief. I couldn’t watch all the stuff at work so I missed the official announcement about single specs.

That’s good, because the skill balance team would have to have an open bar for every patch.

False.

They’re getting the regular 2 dodges that everybody else gets.

What was said during the stream was that they’re missing the extra THIRD dodge that most Daredevils have become accustomed to using by this point.
