whats everyone opinion on these skins myself I find them horrible and a waist of a black lion claim ticket. Anet what happened to your art team? did they take a vacation? or are they just running out of ideas?

I don’t like them much either, though like every set there will be players that will find a place for them in a character’s gear scheme. I agree with Bog Otter in that they kinda look like they’re encrusted with skittles. Some of the edge contours are interesting, though, and would be welcome on a set that’s more “aggressive” looking, but I’m passing on this one.

Yeah, I’m not investing in this set either, but I don’t see the point of complaining about it. BL skins are hit-and-miss most of the time, and even then it’s just personal opinion.

However, I do often look at, say, Dreamthistle skins and think, “Dang, the art department used to try much harder way back when”.

I bought (gold and tickets) the entire Plasma set, cuz I thought some were neat enough to use and I got a 7 ticket rebate for the entire lot once added to my wardrobe. Most opinions I’ve heard are that they’re meh at best. So, to each their own. The benefit of having gear that is visually unpopular is that they’re also unusual in the field, and isn’t Fashion Wars predicated on being “special”? Can’t be special if everyone and their brother is rockin’ the same thing you are. Silver lining, and all that. Maybe this set will be like that, too.

I really really really liked the sword model. But the skin looks like Vanilla ice cream with Jelly Bellys glued on.

Please ANet, stop making weapons that look like toys.

The community doesn’t love these, as evidence by their extremely low average price (<50g max for a skin) for a new BL skin.

I’m sometimes relieved when a set comes out that I don’t like. It gives me a breather to work on gathering tickets. So this is one of my relieved times. These are billed as Caudecus’ household weapons, right? So he must have been swapping out gems for glass beads over time so as to fund his (spoiler, won’t say more than “extracurricular activities.”) These have no glisten to them, no gleam of gold, no deep inner shimmer of gems, no scintillation. To me they have all the appeal of bargain katana replicas in a tacky tourist shop.

All to the good. By the time I have scraped up another ticket there should be a new set out. If I don’t like that one either, I get to nab another Privateer skin!

I couldn’t resist getting the daggers for my pretty kitty princess charr thief, but I agree that while I love the concept of sparkly weapons, these ones do NOT properly deliver on the “Gem-encrusted golden weapons” they are striving for.

There is something about that color scheme that really irritates me other than that not much to say about these …

I know. Matter of taste. Subjective. Others like them even if you don’t. etc etc

They fail to deliver either the “wow!” or the “niiiice! realistic detailed weapons!” look that I expect from black lion skins. I can see what they were trying for, expensive looking jewel encrusted weapons, but it falls short. The weapons look cheaply made, like they’re carved out of wood instead of sharp edged metal, and the jewels look like painted areas instead of valuable gemstones.

I do not like this set very much but I do have to say they are appropriate for my “Tavern Wench Barbie” toon so I had to get some.

They look like Fisher Price children’s toys with plastic “gems” set into plastic toys as decoration.

Not truly terrible, but not worth buying to me.

Ya I don’t like the look either. I am just hoping for a Celestial weapon release soon.
