If you look at the screenshots you can clearly see how the realism of 1st person mode is lost. This very “important” issue should clearly be addressed. The issue being that the vertical placement of the camera is off.

Thanks to all models involved in “properly” communicating this bug.

Theres an option you can check to have your camera put behind the eyes of your character. Its under the first tab of the option menu.
Check ‘adjust camera to character height’ on.

You need to active “adjust camera to character hight”

I have no clue why this was not already on. It was in effect before the patch

This doesn’t mesh well with the vertical camera setting unfortunately

I don’t get the problem unless your swapping POV’s all the time. The immersion breaking issue I have is how SMOOTH movement is in 1st person.

Might not be a bug.

Every character has a hitbox inside it and the size is the same for all characters. An Asura’s ‘hitbox will be taller than they are and a Norn’s, smaller. OP’s character is probably looking at the top of that female Norn’s ’hitbox, which on her is probably chest high.

Unless they put some sort of marker on the eyes for the other characters to orientate to, this might not be fixable.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

It’s meant for screenshots and camera work in machinima Obtena, the smoothness is a boon for that.

Oh neat, I hadn’t noticed that option. Will have to try it later.

You know you play GW2 a lot when you describe good things as “boons.”

That’s closer, but unfortunately it still doesn’t put it behind your character’s eyes. I made a thread about this: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/FPV-height-slightly-off/

Uh no, it’s just centered when you don’t have Adjust to Character Height on.

Look at OP’s picture again.

In the picture the Asura is looking directly at the Norn’s chest. Are you saying that adjust to character height will cause the Asura to look into the Norn’s eyes instead? How does the Asura “know” where the Norn’s eyes are? All it can see is the top of the hitbox which is at chest level.

Adjust to character height means the camera moves from the top of their hitbox to up above their hitbox. Not that it will start looking other characters eyes.
