I know that this has been brought up in the past, but I haven’t seen anything to indicate that anything will be done about it. Right now if people are spamming emotes, my choice is to turn off emotes altogether or put that person on ignore. Since I don’t want to turn off emotes because there are polite players who don’t spam the same emote 10 times in a row, my ignore list is really filling up (is there a limit on ignores?).

I would like to suggest two solutions:

1. A limit on the number of times the same emote can be used and/or a limit on the number of emotes/minute in general.

2. Reduce the range of emotes so that if someone is bothered they can potentially move out of range without too much trouble.

Also, the ability to right-click in chat on players who are emoting, in order to facilitate reporting the spammers.

Currently, the only way to report emote spammers is to find their character so you can target them and right-click their health bar.

What do you mean by emote spamming? Is it really that much of an issue? I have yet to see any type of emote spamming. (maybe it’s just my server) but I could see it being more of an “issue” in highly populated areas. (i.e. cities), which is why I don’t hangout in the cities.

Usually followed by another person spamming a different emote. If you’re trying to have a conversation its pretty irritating. Yes, I can switch to a chat tab, but I like to use General so I can see Map, Party, Guild, etc all in one place.

Yea, I don’t know of another MMO where you can’t right-click the character name in chat.

Used to see that all the time in Lions Arch. Some of the more obnoxious ones seemed to just spam the emote they were doing dozens and dozens of times.
Really frelling annoying… (and one of the reasons I personally don’t miss LA… I just didn’t seem to see that in the other cities nearly as much.)

meh, I just ignore it, I’m not around it long enough where it disturbs my chat. You can still walk away from it.
As far as I know it only has the /s distance.
