When???
I do miss /rock the most and /sorry would be useful if you have friends that rp or just use /cry. I miss some of the others too but mostly those two.
And /goteam tended to get used so often at the start of runs or PvP etc. It’s a little cheesy but fun.
Oh and thanks for letting me know /me works instead of /emote – it’s so much shorter to type! I just wish there were actions related to some of the ones I use /emote for.
Oh do i miss the monk /dance and /flex. it was great. so smooth, so in balance. Like a real Monk.
Never played much of GW1 myself, but I welcome the notion of more emotes being added to GW2.
For the instruments we do have REAL instruments now… But I’d gladly have other emotes from GW1
/e [Type whatever you want]
Shows up as an emote
e.g.
/e Thinks mushroom mobs need a slight damage adjustment.
I am aware of the /me emote and what it says in the chat.. but it’s about the smooth animations from GW1, the instruments we’re an amazing way to stand somewhere doing nothing.. while not having to play an actual instrument in-game.
Also the /zaishen, /guild emotes are an option for the future of gw2 to show dedication and/or guild ranking, + the zaishen chest re-made with some sweet loot in it… who knows.
I think we’re fine as we are with the custom emotes.
Again, I think using the custom emotes we’re given, as well as a little imagination, is enough!
I do have to admit that I loved idling with the /flute animation.
While I do agree that the imagination is a good thing, the animations do enrich the experience quite a bit!
Besides, I could see the old animations be reused. They were of high quality!
THey are far too short on animations. There should be at least 3 times more animated emotes in the game. Imagination is great, but for that, I prefer tabletop rpgs. In a computer videogame, I want to see CG animations.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

I like to take a lot of screenshots of my characters and also RP a bit in my head (not for real yet, need more courage and a name change contract >.<)
Sooo can we get a bigger variety ofemotes? This is one of the few features I see as lacking in gw2 when compared to other games…
I’d love more emotes, but I’d love to see some WvW and PvP fixing even more. :p

I support the OP’s request, but with a modification:
Any chance we can get more emotes FOR FREE?
Since they should have been in the game from the start.
Wait, you mean they’re supposed to charge for them? X.x I assumed they’d be free
Can we please be able to sit on chairs now? x_x
Have, like, a size condition if you’re worried about charr sitting on chairs that are too small with armrests.
Wait, you mean they’re supposed to charge for them? X.x I assumed they’d be free
It’s ok, it’s a common thing to assume something like this should be free, since it’s free in most games, but you have to lawyer up any requests that you make, because Anet is always on the hunt for new items to throw into the gem store for 400+ gems or so. (example: How To Dance Vol. 1.)
Free or reasonably paid, I don’t mind. We need more emotes, period.

OH MY GOD PLEASE! I’d love to see /roar, /stretch, /yawn etc! But I understand how hard it could be to animate those things.
Emotes…more of them….p p please? lolz.
if i remember correctly there were a TON of emotes in gw1. like /roll /guitar /drum /flute /excited list goes on at least 50 of them. Originally when gw2 came out i was expecting even more emotes like so many i wouldnt even need type in chat at all, but were still stuck with the same 19. there are some emote words that dont display an error message but also dont do an action. Just my 2 cents for the day. Good luck and have fun.

I have a question about emotes. When you do one, it seems other people can see it in chat. Is this related at all to which chat mode you’re in – I mean, if you’re in a whisper to someone can people around you see your emote text?
I ask because I’d like more emotes and would use them often, but I don’t need people halfway across the map knowing that I’m sitting or roaring or yawning.
