End Game Content, Where is it? Also locked map areas.
There’s tons to do, also:
No need to buy them, Gw2 will feature consistent free content updates and in-game events going forward. Our goal is to make it so you get more from Gw2 for free than you get from a game you pay a subscription for.
On top of a large amount of free bonus content, we will be expanding on offerings in the Black Lion Trading Company going forward, as well as be doing large-scale expansion content down the road.
We’ll cover a lot of the details on the kind of support and plans we have in place over the next month or so on the Gw2 blog and with our press partners.
We do appreciate that you’d like to buy lots of new content, but we’d prefer to give a lot of it to you for free, cause that’s what we think a responsible MMO company does!
There’s tons to do, also:
I think the OP just doesn’t mean “things to do” but rather “ways to progress” their character. That’s what endgame is lacking right now.
Everything that you have been doing up until level 80 is what you will be doing at 80.
I have a feeling that no sense of progression is what will make a lot of people leave, including my self. I love this game don’t get me wrong but this game has no end game.
I don’t buy into this crap that end game starts at level 1, since end game is about max level doing max level content everything else before hand is for leveling.
Agree 100% with you.
But im really sure that Anet is already ware of that.
A lot of players realized this issue, and many more will.
I really think we will have some new content really soon.

I don’t think you understand or grasp what the guild wars games have been about. They are about the experience and content (horizontal scaling) where as 95% of the rest of the MMOs out there are about vertical scaling or tiered gear grind. This game is meant to hit a cap for stats so if your looking for more stats your playing the wrong game.
Think of this game like League of Legends in terms of horizontal scaling. Do you think when people hit level 30 summoner that they quit playing because there is no more stat progress? Of course not.
/Agree
A lot of people who hit max level are now leaving because there is nothing to really accomplish. And it doesn’t take long to hit max level.
I believe if they fixed the dungeons to give rewarding loot, possibly added more items in their database then we would start to see an inclination instead of attrition
I think it would easier if people would just go ahead and throw the “End game” concept out the window, because all that does it suggest that there is a end some where down the road, and A-net doesn’t play ball that way.
End-game content? Ha! more like… never-ending content; just wait and you’ll see.
P.S. Stop rushing.
EDIT: Ps2: Don’t just assume that hitting max level means that your game is heading towards the end point, in terms of A-net’s track record, you could consider hitting level 80 – the beginning of your adventure.
take in to account that the max level in the first Guild Wars was level 20, and people hit max level way before they could even make a noticeable dent in the actual content. So just keep that in mind.

Yes i do understand what guild wars is about, but what i’m saying is that ( I’m sure I’m not a lone on this ) if you don’t feel like you’re growing in power at max level then there is no sense of progression, doing 5mans might be enough for some people but it will not be for most.
( Don’t bring LoL into this, that game is so bad in all kinds of ways )
Arenanet has been saying “The whole game is endgame.” long before we got to play in the first betas.
In Guild Wars 1 the max level is 20 and getting max stat gear is even easier!
Both games have optional long term goals.
In GW2 legendary weapons are one, full sets of dungeon armor are an another.
100% World Completion makes your name have a star next to it.
There are are lots of achievements and you get many of them by visiting unmarked secret areas.
WvW can be really fun, too.
There’s gonna be constant free updates to add more content here and there, too.
Many of those “locked” areas seem to be behind the wall of the Tengu.
Behind them is an area called “The dominion of the Wind” where the Tengu live.
My guess is that an expansion pack allows us to play as Tengu and those walled areas have a Tengu city + starting areas.
Maybe the Largos eventually become playable, too.
They probably have trouble with the Deep Sea Dragon and need the help of the other major races.

If people leave will the game lose money?
This is not a subscription based game, so you’re free to leave and come back as you see fit, so if you’re at a progression stand-still, leave for a while, and come back later on; there should be more for you to do. You can complete any new content and then check-out again.
Treat the game as a vacation home, you come and go as you like, but its not your permanent residence.
When will people understand that “End game content” means for max level. I don’t care how Anet or any other company try to spin the end game meaning, end game is what you do at max level and not go back to a zone you have 100% on.
I will go with my own common sense : I’ll reach 80 with my favorites characters, I’ll do what there is to do and complete. If I have fun I will continue playing, if not… so long…
It is when I think about meaning that I forget what I meant – Swooshie

GW1 was a very different game, and they’ve gone for a different (and much larger) audience with Guild Wars 2.
Whatever you call “endgame” they put 80 levels in front of us, which suggests that’s our goal. When we get there, in my opinion, there’s a current lack of tangible character progression right now.
People keep saying some are leaving and I am just not seeing it. Also there is basically no real way to measure it since GW and GW2 do not have subscription stats to give out (since there are none).
Spvp
Spvp Tournaments
WvW
Crafting
Achievements
Dungeons
Mystic Forge
Tons of things to collect.
If you are bored already.. I dunno what to tell you. Content will come, but there isn’t going to be some deluge of content next week (or next month).

And that’s fine really, people are going to react differently to all this.
I remember reacting the exact same way in the first Guild Wars, and it took me some time to realize that hitting the level cap wasn’t the main goal in the game, it felt like it at the time, and it felt really awkward and different, but once i got a chance to digest what the game was really about, it was a lot more fun and exciting.
With that said, it’s going to take some time for things to settle and for people to really get in to the “swing” of things (no pun intended).

Actually the fact this game hasn’t got the constant gear grind is the thing I like, for me there is loads to do once hitting 80 and I’m actually looking forward to going back to lower level zones at 80 because of the scaleing and spending time wvwvw, spvp, getting all crafting skills especially cooking and also playing many other alts, trying to get all dyes, gear sets the list just goes on and that is before more content is added. The fact arena net has scrapped the old style progression grind is what actually makes me not want to leave.

Exactly! I’m the type of person that must have every dye in the game, or have every Mini. There is just a plethora of things to collect in this game.
Live in excess …. of MINI’s! \o/
On-topic: Great job in taking the initiative in pointing out so many point’s of interests in this game.

I know we can do explorable mode dungeons, craft legendary or do PVP
I always have a problem with posts like this (which there are many). I always read it, “I know there’s a lot of fun and challenging things to do once you reach end game, but is there anything to do?”

I’m assuming that you did your homework before buying this game, and you knew what to expect. I also highly doubt that arenanet is going to change their model of the game for a small minority of players who want it “their way”. You may not agree with it, but that’s life.
I say, give them a chance to do something different than the “norm”. I’m also used to end game content, but I’m very open to something new, and would like to at least see what arenanet has to offer.
“A lot of people who hit max level are now leaving because there is nothing to really accomplish.”
1.their are not a lot of people at max lvl,max lvl players are in the minority
2.its there ownkittenfault for rushing to max lvl
3.if your playing GW2 and rushing too lvl 80 as fast as you can i suggest you move along this game aint for you
Theres a stickied post at the top of the page that covers what you can do at lvl 80, you literally had to scroll past it to post this.
Why is it that people need to post this thread over and over again. It’s been explained multiple times by far more articulate people the me.
If u dont like it then move on chap. Honestly this thread needs a lock
