So, tonight was the Bitter End of Karma boosted Karma Items, and as I had completed Monthly on Monday afternoon after running 3 hours in WvW, I was thinking about cashing in one last batch of Karma Items.

I noticed a Karma Bonfire near the Mystic Forge and grabbed the jugs and drips in the bank. Combined with 15% Guild boost in my guild, Ice Cream, a Guild Heroes Banner, my 15% Karmic Infusion, and my Personal account wide Karma Boost from Achievement Chests of 6%, I had 101% total boost and 9045 Karma per Jug. (50+15+15+10+5+6.)

I ended with over 2.6 million Karma, and resolved to do one last round of Lost Orrian Jewelry Boxes. At kitten Karma each (ROFL WHY is that number being censored Four-thousand Five-hundred Fifty) , I bought 1,100 total. So that is a grand total of 5,005,000 Karma spent. This was done in waves of 250, 501, 249, and 100 after which my double clicker fingers were broken and I stopped, with a remaining net of 1,452,623 Karma, and 176 Obsidian Shards that would have cost 369,600 Karma if bought at the Temple.

1,100 single clicks to buy, 1,100 double clicks to open, and many thousand double clicks to recycle all the Karma Items from the boxes. Arrgghh! Thank goodness I can DC with both hands.

I hope I am correct in thinking that Obsidian Shards are now part of Ascended crafting as well as Legendary, as that was part of my reason for this move. I also got various Lodestones and several thousand (13 stacks plus 88) unidentified objects with an aggregate approximate value of 40 gold. Also 10 of the useless Mini Risen Priest of Balthazar. With 29 assorted Lodestones this was Much better than I have ever done before on Jewelry Boxes, and a nice close to the Boosted Karma Era.

Of course I’ll Never buy another Orrian Box with the new system making them so much more expensive, and I doubt many others will buy any either, except those that want ONE of that Mini. We will all have ‘back in the day glory stories’ about Karma Boosted Karma items. Share yours?

But if you are correct you can probably craft you ascended gear on the first day it comes out and then you can quit the game cause you’re done.

They are part of Ascended crafting, in so far as being used in refinements. Which is nice, since that suggests there’s a use for them other than Legendaries

Was about time. The Orrian boxes were more about exploiting mechanics than sinking excess karma. I won’t miss that. People will still buy boxes because they simply contain a good karma > gold conversion rate.

As far as double clicking goes … the correct way to do it is by binding click to the scroll wheel.

I never really cared for it; 50% boost was enough for me. Exploits do not make me feel good about myself, so I do not participate in them.

spent about 4 hours last night and converted 35 million karma, got about 1600 obsidian shards and don’t know what to do with them..

I am never saving karma up again!!
