Its really funny how people have been trained to do and endless Sysyphos job and think
thats the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I couldn’t agree more, mate. However, the following is what we typically wind up surrounded by.

All these scrubs aren’t even pushing their boulders right! I’ve pushed my boulder thousands of times for 89189289 hours and me and my guild have pushed all the boulders in so many ways that we could write guides to boulder-pushing, and oh the comradery, the community, the wondrous beatitudes and choral symphonies that sing from the heavens and out of our kitten s every time we push another boulder one more sweet, sweet inch!

These scrubs and FILTHY EFFING CASUALS these days just….just…WANT THE BOULDER THE PUSH ITSELF!

Ahgahd I can’t even stand it, someone ban them all before they destroy everything!

Pushing boulders is what MMO’s are all about! Maybe MMO am not for them if they can’t get good and get on a real player’s level and push boulders like the rest of us! They don’t even CARE about pushing the boulders! Why are they even here, those filthy scrubs, those horrible, silver-platter-mewling casuals, those stinking little roleplayers!!!!111!11!eleven

ANET FIX UR GAME AND MAKE ALL THE LAZY CHILDREN WON’T PUSH BOULDERS GO BACK TO WOW!!1!1!!!1!1twelve

Funny… My endgame in GW2 is collecting 1 of each type of precursor from the forge or as drops and I have five left to go (1) Dusk (2) The trident (3) Howl (4) Choas Gun (5) Moot… That’s really been my goal the past two years. My guildies have been asking recently what will I do after I have reached my endgame goal of getting all the precursors at least once… And really, after that, Drunken Guild Nights will be my endgame because in the end, the only reason I keep playing is because I really like the people in my guild and my wife plays. Isn’t playing with other people the point of an M*M*ORPG?

RNG is a bell curve. Better hope you’re on the right side.

Correct .. nearly every MMO i started to play alone mostly was already boring to me
after 1-2 weeks ..

I can farm for hours and hours if i have fun with my guild on TS3 .. but alone everything
gets boring so much faster.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

I’m waiting for ascended gear to be real account unlocks before starting collecting them.

Just getting the skins unlocked and the items themselves being account-wide is not enough.

Once you get one ascended piece of gear, getting more like that one should be much easier, like for example:

  • For free in any bank from a new “Ascended Equipment” tab.
  • Or a cheaper version being available in crafting disciplines (replacing the old one if it existed), that requires considerably less materials.
  • Or a mystic forge recipe that replicates it. You put the accended item some dark matter, some other materials… poof, you get two.
  • Or being able to switch between previously acquired stats of on other ascended items of the same type. You get a soldier sword and a berserker sword, you can now right click on them and pick between those stats for all ascended swords you get, like with legendaries, but having to get them one by one for each weapon type instead getting all stats from the start.

They are already account-bound, but constantly switching between them in the bank is nothing but annoying. Each character should have their own individual access to account bound stuff.

Until they are truly account-wide, ascended gear is only worth it for players that favor just one or two characters, and so I don’t consider them part of the “things to collect”. I’ll stick with skins for now.

PAY—ONCE—UNLOCKS—ARE—ALWAYS—BETTER.
No exceptions!

I don’t understand why people say they want endgame content. Is it a sense of “finally I finished” so you can go on and do another game?

I love this game BECAUSE there is no official “end game”. I do as many achievements as I can, map completion, collect skins, play PvP and WvW, and do guild stuff (leveling up characters, guild missions, world boss train, dungeons, fractals, etc). I also work on ascended armor and weapons for alts, and learn new professions – and each profession has different build needs for PvE, PvP, and WvW. Then there’s just going through the game with the highest resolution and just APPRECIATING the art!!!

I’ve been playing for almost 3 years and I haven’t run out of things I’d like to do in this game – and I don’t play other games. I think one of the best parts of the game was doing the achievements for the Halloween 2012 patch (link below). People don’t seem to want “end game” per se, but rather they just don’t want what the game has to offer – or spend time having fun with what it is. I’d like to know if there’s ONE person in all the game that has 100% map completion on ALL 8 professions, has mastered them in PvP and WvW and has done level 50 fractals with each of them. At that point, sure, you’re pretty much done until the expansion comes out.

PS. I particularly enjoyed Forsaken Fortune. I’d love to see more of this in the coming patch:

We cant compare GW2 with mmo’s we WISH to exist but only with the ones that already exist. Keeping that in mind lets make a comparison with a giant mmo, WoW.
WoW offers as endgame:
1. Dungeons which lasts 5 mins and all of them are run and AoE.
2. Raids that except mythic mode offers no challenge and you do the same one every week.
3. Gear with ilvl that can be also bought through AH and lasts a few days / weeks.
4. The same old BG’s & Arenas, as WoD didnt add any new ones.
5. Garrisons, a facebook instanced minigame which ends at lvl 3 and you only send followers doing missions. It also helped even more to empty open world from ppl as almost every one is in garrisons.
6. Mounts / Pets & Pet Battles
7. 1 weekly world boss. 5 mins zerg / week
8. Achievements

Thats what a !!!P2P!!! game, played by almost 10m offers. Almost the same offers any other WoW clone, like Rift, SWTOR, WS etc. If you like it more than what GW2 offers its ok, but tbh it doesnt offer much, despite you pay for it every month…

At least in GW2 other than content itself, you have nice combat, professions & crafting, world exploration, open world content, superb graphics engine & graphics/animations, marvelous areas etc and you are not forced to pay for anything.

Its up to anyone tastes in the end

What would you want to do as end game?

That is the best answer and question for this “what do players really want for end game?”

If you want raids you NEED to be willing to have some type of progression for gear. If you want spvp endgame your going to need to be willing to do the same things over and over. If you want open world pvp (wvw in gw2) your going to be willing to win and lose ranks and all the consequence that come with it.

A-lot of players say they want an end game or to have a well defined end game (gw2 dose have many end games they are just not well defined and it is more up to the player to make them into an end game then the game maker) but they do not want the trapping that come with an end game. In a way players are asking for the imposable.

Main : Jski Imaginary ELE (Necromancer)
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)
Server : FA
