A lot of people have been complaining about the lack of endgame…. But ever since I’ve reached level 80 on my engineer, I never felt there were any problems to be honest. I truly feel like I am getting an “endgame” experience.

Some things I’ve been doing:

1. Farming Cursed Shore and exploring other Orr areas for loot

2. Farming Frostgorge trolls for blood

3. Dungeons (Although I’m holding off on most until they fix the rewards and difficulty…)

4. Killing World bosses (Albeit you need some guildie to tell you when they spawn)

5. Getting 100% on maps

6. “zerging” straits of Devastation

7. World Versus World. Yes, it’s endgame.

8. “Mini”-dungeons/jumping puzzles (most are overlooked even with 100% map completion)

Cursed Shore is an especially well designed area for casual endgame play! (Frostgorge is also a pretty sweet zone!)

Overall, I really feel like I am getting my money’s worth. I don’t see what it is people expect the endgame to be, since it seems fine to me.

For anyone else here fine with the “endgame”, what do you think?

U mean:
1. Grinding Cursed Shore: killing mobs over and over again and earning karma for nothing.
2. Grinding trolls over and over again just for mats.
3. Grind dungeons over and over again to earn bilion of tokens.
4. Killing the same bosses over and over again to get nothing.
5. 100% map ~ 3 days after hit 80.
6. Zerg Versus Zerg aka WvW. Yes it’s endgame but after taking the same castle over and over again for nothing it’s boring.

Cursed Shore? There is nothing to do just grinding the same events and killing the same mobs over and over again.

I think anyone who informed himself on GW2 reading articles etc is fine with the endgame.
People asking for different things just made an uninformed purchase, you can’t ask for baseball bats when playing golf.

What I can criticize is that the content you mentioned needs some tweaking.

- DEs need to scale better (to avoid both zerging faceroll ezmode or the opposite, forced teaming)
- Dungeons need the 1hit mechanics fixed (this “dodge check” is a great mechanic, but only if you have the time to dodge it by human reflexes standards, at least 0.5s cast and more CD are required), everything else is getting fixed according to redposts.
- World bosses such as champions should be more rewarding; I see people skipping them a lot.

Still, devs are human beings working with limited, human-built tools so it’s inevitable that it require some work and time before they get to all this.

I have major faith in their ability, and I believe us players need to do a much better job at letting them know objective issues and leaving out personal bias as much as possible.

Gw2 is a game. Not a job. You do whatever you wan to do. And if you get bored, you simply stop playing for a bit and go farm some real cash.

I don’t play many other MMOs, so I’m not sure what to compare it to. But I honestly feel I got my money’s worth for an online game released only 1 month ago! What kind of endgame content are people expecting?

Xenogears for example has practically no endgame. And it lasted me a solid complete 100 hours of gameplay! (Pokemon Gold/Silver on the other hand had waaaaay too much endgame!)

Farming is simply how I choose to enjoy GW2 at level 80! (Dopamine gogogo!)

endgame is indeed excellent. more than any other MMO on launch by comparison. in fact, GW2’s content dwarfs everything else (if comparing release version). so much to do, and im having a blast. lots of people out there….even with the haters dispersing. everyone in my guild is having a blast (few hundred of us).

42K karma gear isn’t “nothing”. I am grinding it because that is the set I want to then go do explorables with. Specifically the Melandru set. Wanna know the best thing? I can get Karma anywhere in the world. If I get bored with Orr I can go to a level 30 zone and work toward the best gear in the game. Not many other games can beat that.

3. Grind dungeons over and over again to earn bilion of tokens.

Devs have JUST stated they are changing how many tokens we will get in a run. Also their seems to be a rumor (It wasn’t stated exactly, but kinda hinted) that they will be passasble to alts. So it will be acct bound rather than soulbound.

4. Killing the same bosses over and over again to get nothing.

Meh. Kinda true, kinda not. Rewards for chests need to be boosted I will agree.

5. 100% map ~ 3 days after hit 80.

No casual is gonna do 100% map completion quickly. Not at all. Maybe hardcore that play most the day. Normal gamers? Nope.

6. Zerg Versus Zerg aka WvW. Yes it’s endgame but after taking the same castle over and over again for nothing it’s boring.

Hard to say. It usually doesn’t swap. Its more like this: One team wins WvW withing the first two days. That team then stomps on other teams till rematch. At least thats how it works on borlis pass.

Were mostly upgrading keeps to kill enemies that foolishly want to play. Go Go WvW GPS + insta no cost teleport across the entire map (which is incredible OP for the winning side).

Cursed Shore? There is nothing to do just grinding the same events and killing the same mobs over and over again.

Is grenth/eye/Karma farm area up atm? Yeah that basically describes Cursed Shore atm.

Endgame is NOT fine. There are so many broken things. Events, Skill Points, Personal Story, Escort missions bugged. These all started happening around level 40+ zones. Before that, it was tolerable, but now, it seriously needs fixing.

looooooooooool

ok none of that convinced me there is endgame just sounded like a hell of alot of grind with no rewards
farm this farm that and world completion sorry but that is not everyones cup of tea and i dont think even half of the players in game care about it at all i know i dont.
world vs world is not endgame in any way shape or form

Mmo endgame is grind in every mmo I’ve played,it may be suger coated in various ways but it’s always about a time sink.As for no reward, I actually find various different armour skins a reward worth working towards.Certainly don’t want the my loots more powerful than your loot raid style grind, that just alienates a large portion of the community. I’m personally loving what’s there and not at all bored, there is always room for improvement I agree but for a game that has just released there is tons of things to do.
I do think that some people bought this game thinking it was going to be something it’s not and unfortunately that is always going to happen with any new mmo release. In that case maybe another mmo is more suited to there taste, that is life you can’t please everyone.

Anyone remember the “endgame content” back in GW1? I do, I loved the crap outta that game, and still do. But at the beginning, leveling was hard as hell (before they added “Prophecies” to the game), you teamed up with henchmen if you were unluck, decent PUGs if you were lucky, and VERY bad PUGs if you were very unlucky (hurr durr, mending + frenzy in PvE makes me so OP!!!!)

Then you got to Yak’s bend, and you were… what, level 8-12 iirc? It’s been a long time. Getting to Borlis Pass was a pain just with henchmen back then.

Fast forward, you’re in Hell’s Precipice—another impossible mission with just henchmen. And then… very little. Glint gave you that mission from her vision-thingy, you did those four… and then what? Nada but farming your obby armor as far as pve went.

Things got better when the expansions came out, and they gave more content, more higher-level areas, The Deep/Urgot’s Warren/Domain of Anguish/dungeons in EotN, and more. We got titles to work towards in our Hall of Monuments, etc.

My point being, GW1 endgame sucked at the start. Most MMOs’ endgame sucks at the start. I’m waiting for more material to be released before I declare that Guild Wars 2 is a failure.
