Ending of the Halloween event ?
Anet hasn’t said one way or another to my knowledge.
All the sales of Halloween items in the Gem Store seem to be ending on Halloween day or Nov. 1st, however. That may be an indicator that the event itself is ending then as well. But it also may just be the Gem Store items that end.
If I had to guess, however, I’d say that it probably ends Nov. 1st. They can only end the event with a patch, since they have to change the Lion’s Arch map back to normal, and unless they break their schedule we’ll get a patch on the 1st and then on the 15th. So if it doesn’t end on the 1st and they keep to the schedule, it wouldn’t end until the 15th. Which would be kind of long, IMO.
Maybe the devs got a Halloween hangover and the next big patch start 8. Nov. ^^
They haven’t said; I’m predicting it will end on the 8th.

I don’t understand their not letting us know how long the festival will last. What’s the point? People might like to know how long they have to complete achievements, mine candy corn, etc.

It’s a festival tradition! They hardly ever let us know the end date until just before.
This might be related to the fact that they try to avoid giving set dates for patches. This allows them a chance to delay a patch from their internal schedule, without panicking the masses. It also has some minor economic effects, in that speculators, investors, & flippers change their TP patterns whenever there’s a scheduled date.
That said, I think it’s a mistake on ANet’s part. They should at least let us know ahead of time the minimum time, e.g. if they had plans to end it on the 1st, they should have said so by the 25th.

Thats the entire point….. You don’t know, so you compulsively bang away at the achievements and gem stores as much as possible. This keeps you focused on the events,

Confuses me too. Not sure why they stopped giving end dates or adding the timer to the meta achievements. I’m assuming it will end tomorrow since there has been no indication of an extension though.

No idea why we weren’t given the end date to begin with. Communication. It’s a thing.
What you folks don’t realise is that the end date is not set in advance. The date is determined by a never-ending tug of war between the big-endians and the little-endians. Today it turns out that the big-endians were marginally ahead so we got another week. It’s obvious really.
Honestly, you folks make me laugh. Next you’ll be telling me that the game is run by a team of humans in RL. Do you think that’s air you are breathing?
