Title says it all.. Gem store item, 1k gems.. endless charges for repairing your gear

I have about 25 of the regular repair canisters in the bank that I’ve collected over the course of the game, and I think I’ve used maybe 3.

With repairs being free, and having a repair station in every dungeon, I simply cannot see this being a popular item.

ANet’s gonna do it anyways. A majority of gem store items is fairly pointless unless you get the skins for the aesthetics. Just wait and see.

The items is good during world bosses, and other events in lvl 80 maps.. dying over and over.. due to lack of cannot seeing a kitten thing lol

I see this being a great thing to have..

I have like 30-40+ of the normal ones with my Fractals character (for emergency), but never really used them. You can damage your armor 7 times before you have one broken, so it’s really not an issue for me. I usually visit a capital once or twice a day and I’m even lazy to repair armor on a daily basis, if I have just 1 or 2 piece broken at the time.

I would be amazed if a thing like this would be a big hit.

On the other hand, I can see endless revive orbs or endless transmutation charges as popular premium loots from Black Lion Chests.

If it’s released, it’ll be in a BLC.

So, if such an item gets released I have to ask:

What is the purpose of armor damage?

Before they removed repair fees it was a (small) goldsink and an attrition mechanic (die too often and you have to leave, similar to DP in GW1).

If you can repair your armor anywhere and for free, it basically becomes obsolete.

Hmmm makes sense. Although I can see the appeal for it as a convience item. But what if it had a say 10 min cool down between uses? That way you couldn’t just spam it, and if you were dying so often that you would need it in a 10 min period, then maybe you should reexamine your playing skills…..

The only place these are really useful is in fractles. Or if you don’t want to wast the time back tracking. Everyone’s diffrent. If I could have my way I’d have a perminant mer bent BL trader repair can and Rez orb to go with my perminant gathering tools. I could just run a round forever and never have to set foot in a city or out post again.

500 gems and I’ll be all over it. 1000 gems and I’ll think for way too long.

Good idea though.
