As a Mesmer and Guardian player, I have to honestly say that Engineers are extremely fun, and they can prove to be extremely useful too, despite the constant hate between them and ranger.

Engineers may not be able to do that much burst damage. But they can definately sustain themselves, any class can be “op” if played and speced right.

I made an engineer and payed my way to lvl 80 ( spent gold to craft )
I can say I am having more fun on this toon than any of my other toons, of course this is a too each “her” own ( I am female ) moment.

My question is, why the constant hate? And why the auto-kick when I join pug teams? Any other Engineer players out there having similar issues?

Because anything the engineer can do, someone else can do better. Don’t worry, us rangers get kicked too.

This, a million times. I love engineer, no other class is as fun to play as engineers are. But yes, everything we can do is done better by at least one other class. And being able to do all those things isn’t really any comfort, when you can only do them to a mediocre degree.

If the engineer class was simply removed tomorrow I don’t think anyone but the engineers would notice. It would have no impact on anything at all, and that’s a sad thing.

I’ve said this once before in another post about Engineers and I got the feeling no one read it cause it had the word Engineer in it , but to answer your question, Yes I get kicked from pug groups when LF dungeons ( Which I don’t do anymore in this game).

Hell I’ve been asked to leave WvW one time for not being a good player,which wasn’t true. The DS that asked me to leave ( really to told me to leave and not in a friendly way) said I quote" We need some other players In WvW that are helpful and not an engineer. Your just Wasting space in the que".

Needless to say I don’t care what players say I to love my engineer.

I don’t really understand why there seems to be a nerf for them every patch, and I’ve never played one before. Seems kinda odd.

I do play a necromancer, the other red headed stepchild of Gw2, so I can relate somewhat still.

You hear that Anet? That’s because you need to give Engineers something unique in the game, like our own Combo field or Condition or CC, not just have Engineer do a few things from other classes.

I’d play Engi if the kits i liked were useful FT or EG or even god forbid Rifles and pistols, but they aren’t so i don’t, i did not make an Engi to be a Wrench or grenade wielding idiot, but hey i play the other underdog Ranger so im pretty stuffed both ways..

As a Ranger class, I feel your pain Engineer class. We are the lesser classes in the game and we have been hindered greatly, especially you; quite severe.

“My question is, why the constant hate?” the reason for the Hate is because you were designed to be "Hated*, look at all onslaughts of nerfs you received, for who’s pleasure?
For the elitists, that’s all.

I was always Proud to have a Engineer fighting at my side; also for your Great Support as Team Players.

Unfortunately the Elitist classes and this company weren’t Proud of that so they stripped you and left you without much to support yourself and others.

I Sympathize you Engineer.

That’s why I generally only do dungeons with my guild. We run dungeons for fun, not speed or efficiency. And yes, we beat them, but we do it in our own time.

ZOMG that run took 45 minutes. I could have done it in 20.

Okay. So I had an extra 25 minutes of fun playing with guildies who I enjoy playing with. Pugs are a mixed bag. Why would I want to trust my entertainment time to a mixed bag?
