Enough With The Stacking And Zerging
If they make events too complicated, say if Tequila Sunrise would walk around the map and you had to avoid getting stepped on, bitten, or hit with it’s tail people would flood the forums complaining that they couldn’t “press __ to not die” fast enough because the server was on it’s knees crying from all the activity in one place.
It’s rather boring content but there’s not much they can do to make it better with the hardware they have.
They can.
It’s called instances.
12 player instances, like in GW1.
You should try content harder than CoF p1.
You certainly cant simply auto attack with full zerkers while watching a youtube video in high level fractals.

That’s called a dungeon. If people wanted instanced boss fights they’d do the ones we already have.

Scale 50 FOTM. And I’m not running Zerkr gear however, in most of the cases playing as a Cleric guardian only slows down your team.

The ones we have are boring (since weve had them around for a year) and not to mention easy as kitten.
Anet should give us a instance option for tequatl and elite dungeons.
hard enough to make them cry, not just rivers but oceans."
The “zergs” are much more fun than Tequatl is. Once they take out the zergs, I will quit this game for good.
Zerg play is a result of rewards stacked in a small number of places plus events designed for groups of players and up. Stacking is an artifact of group buffs having small range combined with melee doing better damage than ranged.
Auto-attacking is a third phenomenon. It is the result of many weapons having only situational skills in addition to the auto-attack. Regardless, a lot of people spam those situational attacks on refresh, whether that makes sense or not.
Only one of those is caused by simplified “combat mechanics.”
Short of adding dedicated healers, which I believe is off the table, how would you suggest fixing any of these “issues?”
This is how ANet wanted the game to play. DPS spam, nothing else. It’s not even skill based damage either, it literally is just spam. It still feels like the “action” part of combat ) was shoe horned in to compete with TERA or something (at the time).
At this point in time it’s take it or leave it. I don’t think ANet would do anything to improve or correct even if they could. Maybe Guild Wars 3? =\
OP it has nothing to do with the combat mechanics but everything to do with the skewed reward system in the game and the insane amount of mats/gold need for bis slot gear.
So yes I think it is horrible and it is terrible content but casualization and no skill has nothing to do with it.
If enemies did more damage to tightly packed players, that might discourage zerging and stacking.
Part of the problem is also that many people are playing to get the rewards at the end rather than for fun. You’re not going to get very engaged players like that.
and what’s so fun about killing a boss like golem mark which you do die but have a 100% win ratio.
I rather just auto attack and go watch tv like I used to.
Or what’s so fun about doing tequatl with 100% fail ratio because you have to be in an organized group to succeed. And dont’ tell me blackgate, because apparently people who spend all day afking on the map have become an organized group.
And killing tequatl in an organized group is like saying the boss should be instanced. Because apparently that is the way to kill Tequatl now. Find empty map or overflow so your organized group can kick out the weak.
its because of the silly 5 ppl cap on all AOE.
remove the AOE cap completely (from players and monsters alike), and see people adapting and starting play smart, with positioning, CC etc….

So what do you want open world bosses to be like then?
Tequatl isn’t even remotely complicated to kill, it just requires the tiniest bit if co-ordination, and forces you to not 1 spam. Then bam! Hardest boss in thus game and no one could kill it.
People are trying to get max rewards for the time invested – this is why champ farming is so hot right now – all the kids are doing it.
