Right now a lot of people are unhappy with the way Anet announced the expansion. Even if you disagree with their opinions, they have the right to share them. Just as you have the right to express how excited, happy, or pleased you are with the announcement. But there’s no need to criticize people just because they are unhappy with the game.

One thing I can say about the people unhappy is that they are focused on the issue at hand. However, many of those who don’t have the same complaints seem to be more interested in attacking these people who feel hurt by Anet’s decision. This is not civil behavior. This is where the hostility on these forums come from. So for those types of posters, I have some simple advice:

Please keep your discussion to the topic of the game and not the posters. Or just ignore the complaints, because they have nothing to do with you.

Thank you.

Fair enough. I edited it out. Will you remove your post to emphasize your own point?

There are different types of people in this world. While some may go for logical thinking and rationalization. Some will always choose to have “faith” or “believe” in what they do and will not accept any rhyme or reason. That being said

To understand the motive that drive this 2 group into conflict in this forum
Whinner
They generally wanted to get a better deal or is upset of the policy of the company/product

Fanboy
They generally love the game and but is upset that people don’t agree with them.

The term are used to identify the group for better identification and in no means degrading them. But there is no hope in this going down in a civilize manner as whiner will continue to whine as they’re unsatisfied while fanboy will continue to defend as accepting the concern of whiner goes against their believe and even to some extent makes their purchase/decision look stupid.

Hopefully u can rest any hope of these 2 group ever coming together in a civilize manner.

I’m sorry, but in all the posts I have seen, the terms fanboy and whiteknight are used in a demeaning or derogatory way. They are used to make people seem stupid, blind or without any ability to think in a reasonable way. I don’t think I have ever seen either of these terms used in a constructive way, or used to describe them in a positive or neutral light.

So, no, these terms are not used to better identify types of people, they are used to belittle people and are far from civil, and have no place in constructive discussions.

Simplicity is complex.

Good feedback is key to getting the developers to listen to you.
