We’re currently putting the finishing touches on episode five. It’s an important episode and we’re taking the time to get it right. I wanted to let you know that this episode will release closer to the three-month side of our two-to-three-month cadence. We’ll make the formal announcement when everything’s locked down. In the meantime, just hang tight a little while longer.
Rather ironic that I had a dream about episode 5 being suddenly released today and it held a massive reveal, then we get a forum post about it being delayed.

ugh.. it’s that time of the year again.. gotta bust out my other pc to save this upcoming episode for later.. since my current pc isnt powerful enough to run GW2, oh 6 gods.. how i wish that episodes weren’t buy to play :< but alas.. tis the way it has to be. I#M just glad i will be able to play all upcoming episodes for free. My perseverance will endure and reward me in the end.

Thank you for the heads up. I just want to ask one thing about the Legendary Armor, for whenever it will be released ( it could be possibly included with this episode, but we still have no confirmation ).
Can you tell us beforehand if there will be a sigil/rune swap system included with it?
I’m going to craft all the 3 sets so I’m sure that a lot of players working toward it will need this information so they can farm eventually the proper runes/sigils ( as a Mesmer, I’ll have to probably farm again Runes of Leadership ).
Instead of just telling us some bad news, you could’ve added a cryptic message so that we could speculate on it.
Something like “The South isn’t cooling down.” or whatever. Reddit and the forums go ape kitten for that kind of stuff, I never understand why you don’t do fun little cryptic hints like those…

In TL;DR’ing him, you apparently missed where he said “closer to the 3 month end of 2-3 month releases”.
In other words, folks were expecting later this month (April) because Anet’s so far maintained the 2 month releases (and SAB going on til then), but it’s going to be early/mid May instead by the current looks of things.
That said, as OriOri said, it’s technically not delayed since ArenaNet always promised 2-3 months, not 2 months. It’s just slower – but still within projected release time – than the other episodes.
