I believe everyone has a type of game play they enjoy whether hardcore raiding, WvW, fractals, dungeons, pve or Spvp I get that. I do not begrudge anyone there style of fun. I do begrudge that one games style gets rewarded with something unique that the other game styles are being left out from. All game styles should be able to acquire the same type of rewards in their game play, however I would not mind if it was in a different but unique style just for that game play. Example: Legendary Armor. Each area of play should have a unique set of Legendary Armor that can be earned through that style of game play. Unique enough that just looking at it tells you the game area it was acquired in, like hey that guy over there has a set of pve Legendary Armor or look that one is wearing WvW legendary armor and so on. This should not take away from another’s sense of reward or achievement while at the same time it does not force a player who hates doing something in what should be fun time for them to be forced to play what they hate to receive a reward that can only be earned that one single way. I am not a developer so I will be the first to admit I have no idea how much work or effort this might take. However, that said it could or might decrease a lot of friction between styles of play. I understand that there will be outcries against this, but I have to wonder, what is the true motivation in denying something to others that does not decrease your own achievements, challenge or fun in the game? Also, please note: I did not disparage any ones style of play nor their qualifications as to whether they are good, bad or indifferent or should L2p and would prefer the same curtsy in return.

One: paragraph breaks, please?

Two: there are many threads on this exact concern.

Three: Even raiders can’t make the legendary armor yet. Not everything they need is in the game as far as I know (I am not a raider, I have just been reading the many threads and my impression is that actually making even the first stage Experimental Envoy stuff can’t be done at this point).

Four: It is not impossible that ANet will find a way to provide legendary armor for other game modes in times to come, once they’ve worked out how it functions, so patience may be all we need (yes, along with occasional polite reminders that non-raiders would also benefit from an equally difficult procedure to assemble sets in their preferred modes).

Meanwhile, maybe it’s best that the wrinkles get ironed out on the raid gear. This first set doesn’t look all that great (to me), and I know that I for one am not going to the effort of making any difficult to acquire item if I don’t like the looks of it. So they can figure out how the gear should work, they can tweak things for QoL use, and then give the rest of us really cool looking stuff?

One can hope.

This, I’d rather they get the kinks out of the system while there’s only 1 set of legendary armor to get. Not after we get 16 different varieties and end up in the same situation as legendary weapons on fixing problems. The problem with the legendary weapons being the very very low RNG chances to get a precursor.

I might be more concerned about alternative ways to obtain legendary armor once the first way is finished.

I hope legendary armor isn’t always locked behind raids, but I’m not going to worry about it in advance. I’m okay if it’s exclusive to raids for a while, potentially a lengthy while at that.

Until ANet changes the rune system, I don’t really care about obtaining legendary armor; sigils are already a hassle for leg-weaps. Also, since I don’t like the vast majority of armor skins in this (or any) game, I probably won’t be inclined to worry about the looks either.

As a result, I’m not all that concerned about whether leg-armor is gated behind raids in 2016. I assume that at some point, there will be a second set of legendary armor obtained through some other mechanic.

I kinda agree. Its the same thing that Blizz did with the PvE and PvP sets. But then, you get people complaining about the WvW sets looking better than the PvP sets, and the complaints start all over again with “Oh, i dunno why i hafta go play a game mode i don’t like for cool armor”. Why don’t you get the armor in the mode you like to play? Because it doesn’t look cool, and/or its a grind. >_<

Especially with how ugly the pre looks and then there is the silliness with the female charr and asura versions …

I would imagine different skins locked behind various game modes but the functionality be available from other game modes in the future, once they get it worked out for raiders.
