This is a very old bug and fix. Way back in the day, people were selling items on the Trading Post at such a rate it would lag and crash the post. Sometimes, the TP would be down for days.

This ‘fix’ is to prevent that from happening again.

But I agree. I wish they would do something about it instead of the band-aid fix from two years ago.

Thank the hackers for this. It’s to help stop them or bots from selling everything on the character in one go.

It is to slow down bots a bit.

I get that message whenever I clear out all my gemstones to sell them for easy money ;-)

Most of it is vendor price. The items that do have value, drop less frequently than the others where you would not encounter the error when trying to sell them.

edit: on second thought, I don’t want to say anything here. infractions for nonsense things make me even madder than this “error”.

I still firmly believe it’s there to lessen the max load on the TP database server when putting items up for sale during peak times.
