Why is this rare ingredient only used in a single and unpopular focus skin recipe? It feels a bit unrewarding if you get around 3s for this drop.
I think it would be nice to have a whole time themed weapon set, which possibly even need more than one time essence each to craft to give this drop a bit more value.

192 views and zero answers, I guess that speaks volumes about the popularity of the focus and the use of this crafting resource.

Edit: Oh! That focus! Well, there was a lot of interest during the forum ‘scavenger hunt’. At least, I think that is the item it was about…

The essence is a rare drop from the chests in silverwastes, but the low demand for the focus (why have a crafting ingredient for just one item?) and the army of farmers there make this drop kind of worthless.

The scavenger hunt was about the ugly dagger and overpriced dagger called Reaper of Souls or something like that.

Ahh. Well, guess it was from one of the LS episodes, then.

I have no idea why or how items are selected for crafting certain gear. Perhaps, there are other items players are not interested in crafting much. /shrug

I had no idea the focus existed until I got the Essence of Time drop in SW. I looked it up on the wiki, discovered it was a crafting ingredient and that I could make most of the other mats and made the focus. I’m thinking it might be good for my mesmer once specializations are launched — it looks like Time might be involved so it fits the theme.

I actually like that focus but there is no reason to ever get more than one.

Mostly every other mat got new uses introduced over time. I am sure, EoT will see some new uses in the future. I always have buy orders for it actuve.

I just hope it wont turn into an other Giant Eye if that happens.

I have the focus since it is a nice skin, but I barely use focus on my ele these days.

I would support it’s use in other weapons though. I could see some nice skins evolve from it.
