Essence of luck
Well, it’s not the only useless thing. XP when you aren’t advancing a Mastery and spirit shards when you have no plans to do the ultra boring mat conversion to get a few silver could both also use a look at and new sinks.
ANet may give it to you.
With the new consume all option there is no reason for you to hoard essence of luck. Even if your maxed just right click it consume all and be on your merry way.

I think the point is you can’t do this when your magic find is maxed out at 300
I head you can but it gives you nothing

Possibly, but the OP wants other uses so it doesn’t go to waste. Personally I don’t think it is likely to happen any time soon – I would doubt more than a small number have reached maxed, but maybe a luck eater should be given to those who max their MF out using luck.

Yes exactly, we need some essence of luck eater.
Transform everything for better storage into exotic lucks with artificer, and when Lunar comes, sell them to guilds to buy lanterns (like the SW shovels or tomes of knowledge)

This is extremely useful info. Thanks for the tip, i can see me making lots of devorations this lunar festival!
An achievement for hitting max MF that awards a luck eater wouldn’t be a bad idea. Only thing is that its just another eater for players who more than likely already have several clogging up their inventories.

Ummm, how you sell it when its account bound? o.0
Soon we will need a wallet for currency eaters. They need stop adding crap currencies for every kitten thing in this game.

Become a member for a few minutes and dump it in their guild stores. They mail you gold.
It’s a trust based thing. Neither side of the bargain can be enforced.
Now when there are more and more ppl having magic find at full level, essence of luck became useless.
It always was. What do you care about value you can’t see or measure?
I’m still hoping they increase the cap to 400% or more, I do not care if the 300-400 grind takes the same amount of essence as the 1-300 grind, it just needs to be there.

This still doesn’t address the problem, it just delays it. Eventually, people would hit the new cap of 400% and have the same problems that they do now. If ANet does anything, they should implement a proper solution to this.

I think it’s a fine solution. Increase the cap so that addicts can continue to chase their meaningless numbers. Once it becomes full again increase the number and also reduce the hidden base value so that rare items don’t drop above reinforcement threshold.

That is an amazing Idea. Simple. Fits the game as it is now and easy to implement.
Increase it to 500% and make it more exponential. So much so that by the time they max it in 10years no one will care.
Remove luck drops, apply generated luck directly to the account. Change a few recipes that require essences. Problem solved.
They did that with World XP. Works fine.

All this does is unfairly punish newer players by giving them even smaller chances of getting exciting loot off mobs. This is not a good solution. Furthermore, continuing to increase the cap as soon as people hit it begs the question of why even bother having a cap in the first place. If Anet didn’t want to cap MF then it wouldn’t have been capped period

Oh, you’re right. Maybe add (HIDDEN) “new player bonus” to MF so that everybody is happy. They’re already doing something similar with rewarding returning players with exotic item drops.

This is just the key point: magic find is useless. You don’t know the base value or the code how drops are determined. Reason why we have magic find is because it affects behavior of some people. They look at numbers and feel good about themselves when they repeatedly kill mobs. Maybe cap is there to get some kind of rush when you’ve “maxed” a stat.

Whats this about awarding returning players with exotic drops havent seen any and pretty sure its just lucky rng.
I dont think that MF actually works or have any kind of impact on drop because i have had better drop (around 3-4 precursors) first year with much less MF obviously, than i have now at full MF (300). Sometimes i rise MF to 500 and still its crap. So i actually dont care about it, i just want to get rid of essence of luck other way than destroy it.
Would like it if they removed the cap but made required Magic Find scale exponentionally after 300%.

Can this be the lucky charms leprechaun? I would certainly pay gems to get a pot of gold from said leprechaun!!!
