Hello everyone,

I am not sure if this is the appropriate thread of if this topic has been adressed before.
I might even miss something here, but it seems like the sole purpose of having Essences of Luck drop into your inventory is the possibility to combine them with the artificing profession, which is not really a reason.

  • Essences of Luck are account bound.
  • They count for every character.

I like that luck is now account bound other than having to equip it like we had to at some point, that was a nice change.
But this clicking makes me wanna vendor sell all over again.

It would be logical to automatically apply it I suppose. But that would also go for karma.

Any plan that involves dead quaggans is, by design, foolproof. I’m an unmitigated genius!

It would be so amazigly great if essences of luck could be automatically applied when you get them. It’s annoying to click 500 times every day when you clean out your inventory. :P

I think some people use it for crafting achievements and crafting in general to level up?

Exactly. Same for karma, but the luck essences pile up a lot faster in your inventory. With all the clicking it feels like an in-bag-farmville after every dungeon etc.

Artificer will take all the low level luck up to 200. Greatly reduces clicking.

I dump everything in the bank from various characters then my artificer does not have to have them in personal inventory. Everything is taken directly from the bank.

Great idea! Yes, please make luck automatically applied just like karma!

My account bound mf is 88%, my fingers hurt, if you like to keep the consumable version, add a npc that takes those green and blue suckers and juices the luck out of them directly. Also do something about lost orrian strongboxes, it’s a horrible clickfest if you buy 2mil worth of chests.

Do you people not have artificing on any character? And why do you have so many saved that “your fingers hurt”?
Artificer combines these, easily, with 3 clicks. Master→rare→exotic. Unless you are saving hoards of these, you shouldn’t have more than a few 200luck essences.
If you’re saving hundreds upon hundreds to click at once, well honestly, thats your own fault.
You’re asking for a system to be put in place when there already is one. Become an artificer on one character and slide all the luck to that character if you’re hoarding it for whatever pointless reason (it really serves no purpose to save it) and watch in amazement as the game combines all that luck for you into larger portions, thus leaving you a fraction of the consumables to click.

Also Anet might decide to use Essences of Luck in crafting recipes later on (apart from refining them as Artificer into more concentrated ones). At some point they have to add secondary uses for them, when alot of people reach 300% account luck.

So they might make mf infusions or temporary boosters craftable and for that it would be counterproductive, if EoL are autoconsumed.

Protip:
1.) Refine essence of luck through artificer on an alt account (if you are maxed on your main). Artificer at lvl 1 will be able to refine it.
2.) Bind your scroll wheel to left click. Speeds everything up tremendously.

After doing a daily run of Scale 26, 36, and 46 Fractals I commonly end up with multiple stacks of luck numbering in the hundreds. This has nothing to do with ‘saving’ them, just the result of salvaging all of the junk recieved.

Actually, the practice of having to shift all of the luck to your shared bank, then hop over to your artificer character, then reduce the luck piles all down to manageable levels, then activate all of those reduced units is not what would generally be called a ‘game system’. It would be called a ‘work around’. Because Luck as implemented has turned out to be something of a PITA for players, forcing them into unnecessary work arounds. This deserves to be revisited.

there is no use all option, what others said, use artificer. If you are maxed, may be wise to do what Wanze said. Save them. The possibility they may be used later on for something different.
Once maxed, only thing that happens if someone keeps using them is it just keep adding points to the mf bar. Does not increase the mf bar after 300

considering about 4.3 mil points is required to max, the artificer is a life saver. I found it easier to just pile up various levels, when you get about 50-100k points or more upgrade to save time. Or upgrade them every 30k points saved which is the requirement per mf point after 218 I believe.

“.. forcing them into unnecessary work arounds. This deserves to be revisited.”, yes, pretty much what I was thinking.

It’s not that people didn’t find or get a way to deal with it, but the problem is unnecessary.

Really it’s that big of an hassle? Not only have they given us the ability to wear best damage sets but allow it to be shared with all characters at the mere cost of a click. I guess we could go back to having to buy individual sets for each character and be grossly inefficient all to save a click.

Then again I guess I’m sorted biased with earning agent of entropy 216 times.

Don’t get me wrong, I really love what ANet has done with this game, there is so many things they did an amazing job with, in comparison to other MMOs.

Yet I don’t see why they would implement things like that – other than to sell bag and bank spaces, which is a cynical way to look at it.

As stated by me above, I appreciate them changing the system.
But not just applying luck to the account but giving you tons and tons of bag items..
Feels almost as silly as changing gold to money essences that you have to click away.. would that be okay, if you could reduce the pile with, let’s say, jewelcrafting.. ?
Money changed from being single character to account money, as well.

Even if there would be such a thing as a perfect system, (some) people would still find something to complain about it.

Seriously; just yesterday I’ve decided to do some luck-refining again and use them. Got something between 40 and 50 exotic luck essences. No, my fingers didn’t hurt at all after using them.

After doing a daily run of Scale 26, 36, and 46 Fractals I commonly end up with multiple stacks of luck numbering in the hundreds.

I call this a blatant lie. Unless you are a VERY lucky guy and get like, three times the loot than most people do. Fyi; a stack is 250 of the same type of an item. So I take it you claim to end up with like 500 blue essences and at least 250 green ones. And even then (which I highly doubt); if you refine them to exotics, you will not have to click that often anymore.
