- we know Eternity is combined by Twilight + Sunrise, and the recipe for it is :
Eternity = Twilight + Sunrise + Gift of Mastery + Gift of Fortune
- Eternity only give us 1 more effect that its changing into Twilight or Sunrise depend on the night/day.So finally its required alot of farm and gold ( just say the cost of 2 gifts ) and you cant freely control the skin(twilight or sunrise) you want to see anymore, and intead u take 2 gifts for eternity, u can save them for another legend wep, its worth than u make eternity.
-if Eternity can give us something to make its worth, i think its good, not just like combine 2 legendary into 1 and no more good effect.
So how do u think about it ?

There’s no game-related reason to make a Legendary weapon in the first place, it’s got the same stats as an exotic weapon that is much, much cheaper and easier to get. You craft it because you accept the challenge of gathering the materials to do it, or because you want to show off the fancy animations that come with it.

The same reasons apply to getting two of them and crafting the Legend of Legends. If you need to be convinced to make it, then don’t.

Eternity shouldn’t even exist, neither should one of either Sunrise or Twilight – it is completely unfair that there are 3 greatsword legendaries and only 1 of each of the other types of weapon. ANet need to either increase the legendaries for other weapons or remove 2 of the 3 greatsword legendaries from the game.

So what if they do want more people to go warrior/guardian/mesmer/ranger – it doesn’t make greatsword special.

Any warrior using greatsword is nerfing themselves – I ran tests with dual weapons vs greatsword and do more damage with dual weapons due to the extra sigil.

If Anet are going to provide more than 1 legendary for 1 type of weapon, they should do it for all types of weapons or it simply isn’t fair – there is no argument against that.

You’re completely missing the point if you have to ask if it is worth it. The point is that it was put in the game to be something cool (i.e., shiny carrot on a stick) for the people that want it. It has nothing to do with need or being “worth” it in terms of stat increases. If you’re thinking in terms of “worth” or “need” then you need to go skipping elsewhere in game because legendary weapons aren’t for you.

I will have Eternity. It might take me years, and I am perfectly fine with that. I may also go for Rodgort and Meteorlogicus while I’m at it.

Actually the recipe is different and much much “cheaper”:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Eternity

As for the GS, I’m working towards Twilight now while owning Sunrise, I should finish it in a week or so. But I do not plan to mix both swords for much lesser effect.

As matter of fact I think it is even more kitten to keep rotating between them, since I do not see any sense in the game dictating me when I should display the effects I wish to show, while on top of it losing the footsteps for some odd reason.

And of course, I will live in hope (though I don’t mind that much) that Anet will fix Eternity’s effects. Yes… they need a fix, this is not Eternity, this is 2 legendaries mishmash.

I know this is bringing an old post “back from the dead”, but I actually found it very helpful, and others trying to make this decision may as well. I’ve been playing GW2 for about three years now and I’m finally looking into creating a Legendary for just that reason…. a fun goal to gain some sparkly effects. My main is a Mesmer and she already has an ascended greatsword, so it’s not about the stats, it’s about the challenge…. ‘Life is a journey, not a destination.’ – RWE

I don’t need my Legendaries. I can play just fine with some well-chosen exotics. The thing is, though, I want my Legendaries, and I don’t regret the time, effort, or expense involved in acquiring them.

Other players’ mileage may vary. Some will like A, others will prefer B. No one is right or wrong, and only you can make the decision about which to get, or whether to try for one at all.

But every time I take one of my bows in hand, I’m happy. I mean, I honestly think about that every time I play. Not that others see them, or admire them, or they’re super-special and rather rare, although I guess any of that may be true. I love them because they’re just so beautiful, and awesome, and they make me smile.

Quick question… 3 years ago did two handed weapons only have one upgrade slot? just saying he dual wields so that he can get two sigils but as it has been as long as I remember two handed weapons get two upgrade slots, and two infusion slots if hey are ascended or legendary.
I dual wield with my main warrior as well, axe/mace… Frostfang/Eureka.

As for legendary greatswords. I am actually working on making Twilight justnow. Not sure if I’ll ever make Eternity, or even if I’ll ever make Sunrise. I’ll probably give Twilight to my PS warrior but making it because I love The Battle of Champion’s Dusk. Since the title Dusk’s Champion was made, well the precursor for Twilight being Dusk, what better sword to go with that title? Maybe i another Stronghold arena was added that awarded the title “Dawn’s Champion” I’d start working on making Sunrise as well. Whether I’d put them together for Eternity, I don’t know.

I end up making an ascended anyway. I especially liked the journey to make Astralaria and Nevermore. I don’t play a lot now, but probably in the future I’ll make another one.

I have Sunrise, but not Eternity. But even if I have Twilight, I don’t know if I will make Eternity. Something to consider, if you get Eternity you will have 1 legendary gs instead of 2. With legendary you can change states, and it also guarantees the best stats forever. Since everyone’s got ascended, I wouldn’t be surprised if Anet decided to add another tier in the future. If that happens you have 1 less gs to grind to get the best tier.
