I see one on there for 5000g, as well i see the highest offer is 1000g. Is that ever going to happen??

Not that i have that much gold nor do i plan to ever.

But you would think people that are interested would at least bid 3000g to 4000g

Of course it’s not gonna happen. That item plus bid is prolly a way for people to transfer gold without throwing up a flag to ANet.

Crafted: Meteorlogicus, Incinerator, Juggernaut, Sunrise, Bifrost, The Dreamer, Kudzu

Yes – because high visibility, high value transactions are traditionally much better at hiding wrong-doing than any other type I can think of…

I think I know why GP% for TP games is so much better that GP% for similar in every other big MMO.

Feeling bad due to my response does not mean it was a personal attack.
It may just be that your original statement was wrong.

Well what im talking about is if say you sent your buddy 1000g in the mail, i’m sure that would throw a red flag to ANet and they would check both accts or at least the senders acct. Now if you sold an item on the TP for 1000g, that prolly wouldn’t throw up a red flag as that is looked at as a transaction on a broker which sees hundreds or thousands of trasactions. I might be wrong but that’s how i imagine it.

But regardless, as to the OP, not sure why someone would tie up 1000g on the TP when we all know that the guy selling it is not gonna sell it for 1000g.

Who says major corporations or billionaires can’t launder money on ginormous scales?
I’m sure it happens in the real world, and probably even accounts for the vast majority of money illegally transferred.
the person who posted it was the first to post it, so they had no competition, and wanted some rich kid to pay $1000 of his parent’s money to buy it.

Making Eternity requires Sunrise + Twilight + 5 Crystaline Dust + 1 Skill Point. There’s no added value or difficulty that makes it worth something to buy it pre-crafted instead of just buying Sunrise + Twilight and making it yourself.

In theory, the only way that should sell is if
a) The cost of Sunrise + Twilight is more than 5k for an extended period of time (currently it is 4.5k).
b) There is no Sunrise or Twilight available on the TP for an extended period of time, making it impossible to craft Eternity by buying Twilight and Sunrise separately.
c) Someone with ridiculous amounts of gold who doesn’t know how to craft Eternity buys it.
d) It’s some kind of scheme as Sauzo suggests.

The cost of T+S isn’t that far below the listed Eternity. Its conceivable that it could permanently rise above 5k and make the purchase worth while. It won’t be selling for that reason in the short term, though.

Fiat currencies that are a little more difficult to vanish and a lot easier to use for that purpose already exist – Linden dollars are reasonably abused to launder cash and not anywhere near as volatile as GW2 gold.

Bro you don’t know what you’re talking about. Why would ANYONE “sell” Eternity to a gold farmer for 1000g…that makes ZERO sense. They get the 1000g, then expect the gold farmer to send back Eternity? HUGE FLAG there for ANet.

The only method that works for what you mentioned is an item with LOW demand. Someone puts up a buy order for 1000g and someone sells it at that price. We’re talking some item worth less than 5g. Even then, this would have to be done INCREDIBLY fast, so someone else doesn’t sell and screw up the deal.

Best method: make a guild.

The seller obviously hopes for someone extremely uneducated about the mechanics, who also happens to be inclined to throw enourmous amounts of cash at the game.

Not at all unlikely, actually.

They really need to add urgency costs in to the game, this is getting ridiculous.
