So there’s a limit to the number of dynamic events you can complete in a given amount of time. If you complete more, your rewards scale lower and lower till they’re next to nothing. That means that even if you get some time to farm the 1 million karma required for a legendary, this cap is gonna stop you.

I’m only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand.

I was farming events and like I said, the rewards scaled lower and lower till I was getting 19 karma from level 80 events in Orr.

No, approximately 1 million karma is one of the materials.

As far as I know, I might be wrong, the farming scaling is only if you repeat the same events not based on how long it takes before you finish events. I would diversify more. Orr might be the highest amount of Karma you can get but it might not be the most efficient. I would also try other zones even low level zones. There are a lot of factors at play to consider efficiency. Time it takes to complete an event, risk invovled, how likely it is to fail, how long it takes between events. I would calculate how much karma I make in 1 hr at different zones you might find out you can actually play anywhere, enjoy the game and still get the karma you need!

Doesn’t work. I switched from Cursed Shore to Malchor’s Leap and still got 19 karma for several events in a row.

but where the others events you had done recently? I mean alternating between two events is not enough to reset timer so to speak. I do all my events in a chain meaning there is less then a couple of minutes before 1 event and the next and I never had my reward scaled down personally!

Maybe they don’t want you to have 500k karma in a day?

I think part of the problem is that the event chains in Orr either bug out, or never start because people defend. (never lose Arah and you never again fight the wizard king)

This means there are only 3-4 events that pop on a regular basis, the defend events. These events also feature massive waves of mobs.

Due to the above factors, it’s very easy to get hit by the anti farm code in Orr and see both karma and loot drop to nothing. Leap and Straits have the same issues.

Other zones like Frostgorge are not really alternatives, as they’re heart based and have much more infrequent events.

Since Orr has no hearts, you should be able to always be doing an event without penalty.

Wait a second what thing do you need to buy for 1 mill karma for a legendary? The ones I looked into require maxed crafting profs and 500 dungeon token reagents.

Swagman, you need 250 obsidian shards (525k karma) and 77 mystic clovers, 10 shards +10 ecto +10 coins +10 crystals gives a 1/9 chance of 10 clovers. (can also give random t6 fine mats)

So the average is around a million, it could be as low as 693k, or far far higher depending on luck.

I don’t think that’s the issue. The issue is that everyone wants to stay in Penitent Way because it is easy to farm.

You can reset the diminishing returns by gathering and killing mobs in between events.

Spoken from the perspective of someone who gotten his full karma exotic set in 2 days.

Since legendaries are items that were designed to take several months of playing to acquire…I do not sympathize.

They weren’t included for hardcore players with twelve hours day to grind out events and mats to get in a week.

So no, the event cap doesn’t make legendaries a nightmare. It makes extreme karma farming for the purpose of getting one as fast as possible in-efficient and you’ll probably burn out before you get close.

If you are farming the same events in a rotation enough to get hit with the anti-bot code, then you are doing it wrong. Story mode with guild-mates give big karma bonuses. Guild banners only take a few hours to create and give a big karma bonus. Consumables grant more karma. And these work in every 60-80 zone in the game.

I’m sorry, but IMO I would rather you add a little variety to your routine and earn your karma in one of the many ways available, than loosen up anti-bot anti-farm code and make the script and gold-farmer problem worse. State of game as whole > err mah geerdd I want legendary now!!

Farming Orr events, even with the anti-farm code, is still more karma per hour than other options. And you can (and should) be using consumables/banners there..

I’ve farmed about 300k so far. I would love other options to be as effective, but they just aren’t. If I could go to some level 40 zone and get the same karma per hour I’d be very happy, but the infrequency of events in those zones makes it impractical. In Orr I’m doing an event every 10-15 minutes, way more if a chain doesn’t bug and actually happens.

If I get a free 5 hours to farm for a legendary, I’d like to spend all that time farming. As is, the game won’t let me. Not everyone has a small amount of time every day to devote to the game.

No I have no guild-mates with story quests for karma boosts. I could get my guild to plant a karma banner though. I always use karma boosters. Beating a variety of different dynamic events makes no difference to the farming code.

Whatever events you were running were not supposed to be farmed at lightning speed. I run from event to event as quick as I know how and this never happens. You’re probably farming that same event that was posted on the forums a couple days ago.

The anti-farm thing works per zone, not for events in whole.

This means you can’t sit there and zerg down events for hours on end. You actually need to go out and explore and stop doing the same 3 events over and over.

That’s simply not true. For one, I was going all around Cursed shore to grab every event that was available all across the map when I hit the event cap. After hitting it I switched from Cursed Shore to Malchor’s Leap but I was still getting reduced karma experience and money rewards.
