Guild Wars 2

I know you used to be able to tag a bunch of mobs in an event, and then run off and do another event before the first one completed. Is this still the case? Or do you now need to stick around for the entire event to get contribution for the event?

I’m specifically talking about event chains like Dragon Stand, silver waste, etc. I consistently see people run up, hit the boss like 15 times, and then run off to another event. Is this what we should all be doing?

I haven’t played gw2 in quite some time, so just getting back into the swing of things this past two weeks.

The contribution system is still simply based on killing a single enemy, dealing a little damage to the boss or turning in a single item. The only difference is that now there’s a ~3 minute AFK timer which temporarily voids your contribution until you contribute again in any way.
