First, bang up job. Considering the scope of what was done, this patch was exceptional. Let me just say the developers and game designers set the bar very high.

Why do I like this?

- dye system, FANTASTIC, logical, the preview is vastly improved

- two handed weapons, having an extra sigil makes the need to swap out my great sword or staff depending on situation un-necessary

- obviously, combined WvW exp, being able to take advantage of applied fortitude without ranking another 60 times was awesome

- rune and sigil tweaking, ranger runes especially, crit hit sigils, everything seems to have been improved

- pet control, yay!

- ultra, mega, super grandmaster traits, swimming through the sea of undead to uncover 300 extra points of vitality for my guard was great

- only one post patch “patch” (so far), considering what you changed, this is great

Huge props to the team, great work!!!!

Look at Rune of Speed post balance, and think again if you truly think Anet did a ‘bang up job’.

Instead of having dyable town clothes, we get a dyable set instead. Boon duration runes (the ele’s bread and butter) were of course nerfed but any warrior-affecting runes were not. And instead of actual game balance, we get hard-counter traits.

What happened to the ArenaNet that made Guild Wars 1? Is this the best you can do? Hypes and underperforming functionality? Did you even try to make changes or do you actually believe Rune of Speed does something meaningful? Do you even know your own game?

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.

I really like the changes. Except maybe the skillpoint kost for the new grandmaster traits. Feels a tiny bit too much cost. But be able to roam around Tyria and locking up traits takes me back to gw1 and the capture signet, when you had to capture certain skills. That is nice. And also that I have the possibility to roam around fighting as a Mad King Asura Overlord with my Mad King outfit. Dye option for the former tow clothes is a bit too resticted thou.

Because in Guild Wars 1 no one EVER complained about an update.

If you don’t the update, that’s fair enough, but I have a guild full of people that are really excited about it.

Not everyone plays the same way. The update doesn’t fit your play style. It sure as hell fits mine.

I think it’s a fair complaint if Anet says they’re gonna rebalance the runes…

…and then show through Rune of Speed that they don’t.

So many bugs I can’t feel happy. Major issues with Mesmer clones (after a promised fix), stealth switching traits to different trees, transmuted items not returning their original looks as was promised. Items not being added to the wardrobe, still stuck in the bank.

I could go on and on..

Imo, this is the true first game update it has after realese!

Yes, runes could be reworked better, most of them will never gona be used…. :||

except for that 400 armor while rezing (zerg backline medics )

1st April joke, when gw2 receives a “balance” update.

I don’t mean to be rude or anything but to answer your question “What happened to the ArenaNet that made Guild Wars 1?” from what I have seen the balance team would have probably been early teens maybe even children when GW1 was first made?

Again no offence to anyone, maybe to me they just look that young, which is not a bad thing! :P

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

My post was deleted because I said something about the quality of Izzy’s work.

So I’d like to apologize and say that Izzy is still as awesome at game balance as he was in Guild Wars 1. Keep up the good work Izzy! WHOOHOO!
